I am not sure if you are referring to the text fragment option, but as I wrote, that is supported in Firefox with addon installed as well (with the caveat that it does not work well offline)
-
An alternative option is to use the text fragment feature (https://wicg.github.io/scroll-to-text-fragment/). You can use this to create an url with text snippet in the URL fragment. Chrome will open the page at the location of the highlighted text. …

A more correct citation style can be downloaded from http://editor.citationstyles.org (search for the journal)

This style still seems to contain the same errors as reported above. The link to the modified style is unfortunately broken. Anybody has a updated corrected style for the Journal of Biogeography?

After update to Zotero 5.0-beta.r70+da7da74 (on Firefox 49.02 on Ubuntu 16.04 and update to ZotFile 5.0.0.b1) I am having problems with the Zotfile option 'Send to tablet'. I have defined a folder as destination, and before the upgrade to Zotero 5.0…

Great, thanks for the quick fix!

The plugin used to work till recently, but now I can't select a file (the field for file selection is greyed out). Running Firefox 46.0 on Ubuntu 14.04 and Zotero 4.0.29.9. The latter two have not been updated since the last time this worked. Not su…

Yes, that did the trick. Not the first but the fore-last author was entered in single-mode. Curious behavior though. I can see some advantages, but it would be good if this behavior is more clear to the user. Especially because automatic download o…

I am having the same problems with Springerlink and Wiley sites as mentioned above. No 'save to Zotero' symbol in the navigation bar) a and when using the standard option on their pages to download the citations information you can only save it as t…

Thanks for the explanation. In the case above, the difference was actually that the name was spelled out in the first reference and not in the second (when writing my previous comment I was looking at a wrong reference of Carrión). So even in versio…

I am using version 2.09 and yes, there was a small difference in the names (one with initials with and the other without trailing point). Thanks both fbennett and ajlyon for answering my question. Btw, is this feature, I guess you can ca…

I have a question about the above discussed style for the Journal of Vegetation Science when citing two articles both which are of the same author, e.g, like the two ones below: Carrión, J. S. & Fernández, S. 2009. The survival of the 'natu…

Ops, sorry. Not sure where I was at the moment of writing.. anyway, Firefox freezes when using the 'retrieve metadata for pdf' function anytime after I have used the zotero plugin for OpenOffice.

Hi Dan, You are right there was an corruption problem (http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/7410?page=1#Item_1), but you already solved that for me :-). Using the repaired version the database was successfully converted during install of Zotero …

Numa: Is this not field shading? You can disable that in OpenOffice by going to the menu 'View' and uncheck 'field shading'. Or alternatively use Cntrl+F8.

Thanks Dan, It's often the little things that help out a lot; adding a double quotation mark before search text works great! One question, you mentioned in your reply to Kieren that "Sorting has a much greater effect on general use". What…

Here another confirmation about above-mentioned issue (Windows XP, Zotero and Zotero OOo plugin 1.0.3.) and vote to get this solved ;-). Adding references to an OOo document become indeed painfully slow after the document contains about 50 or more c…

I managed to install 1.0.3 without any apparent problems / errors. I even seems to work in OpenOffice, except that nothing is being inserted when I select insert reference (nor does anything show up in the editor part of the Zotero plugin screen whe…

Zotero - by users for users.. that's why!

Just to let you know the solution from Dan Stillman worked for me (thanks), but not initially (I still got the 'no connection to Firefox' message after updating the translators. However, it turned out I just had to go back to the extension manager i…

I just updated to 1.02 and the newest OOo plugin and with as result some erratic behaviour: sometimes there seem to be no problem, than suddenly I get the message 'can't communicate with Firefox'. Indeed, this time everything seems to be enabled in …

Hi Thorbjorn No sorry, I wouldn't know. I use ArcGIS a lot less nowadays, relying more on other free alternatives. To me this problem with python seems to lie with ArcGIS rather than Zotero, Firefox or OpenOffice so maybe you can report it at t…

Hi Niania and others, The above mentioned solution, reinstalling OO2.3 didn't work for me. However, I finally found the solution to the problem. As it turned out, the problem was that another program (ArcGIS) had set an system variable with pa…

To get back to the original topic ;-), I finally found the solution for the problem I reported before (first message of this thread). And it is a quit simple solution. It appeared that another program (ArcGIS) had set an system variable with a path …

Hi Nia, Indeed I have exactly the same problem as you described. I already sent this infomation directly to Zotero support, so hopefully they'll come with a solution. If you find any solution in the meantime, please post it here. Paulo

I still have the same problem now after upgrading to Zotero 1 rc5 and OpenOffice 2.3 on Windows XP. Hope somebody will be able to solve this because it is a real showstopper.

Sorry, should have mentioned that in the beginning, I use Windows XP (with service pack 2) and Firefox version 2.0.0.3

I am exporting in Zotero RDF... I now tried to export zotero references with attachment from database in default location (firefox profile) and importing in database on other computer also in default location.. to no avail.. references are imp…

I just updated both to r5 before doing the export - import. Just to complement this, references with attached notes are actually imported with their attached notes. But attached pdf files, websites snapshots and other files not.

Thanks. Unfortunately, my problem remains. I can export a database including attachments. But when importing in another Zotero database, the references are imported, but without their attached files. Not sure if that would make the differ…
