You can unlink citations so they're just plain text. That won't remove the text, but I'm having trouble understanding why you'd want to remove them. Would your document make sense, or even your individual sentences with missing citations? Wouldn't t…

You can add any non-default information in the Extra field, in the format: Category: Value (However, not all styles will be prepared to include all information for all item types.)
-
Zotero doesn't have any way to "link" references together, such as chapters in a book, etc. One item, one entry in the bibliography. Most citation styles probably want a separate citation for each article in an encyclopedia. But if you want just …

(I understand how it's supposed to work. I'm sorry for any confusion.) I will gladly let you know if I encounter this in a way that allows a Debug ID.

a Refresh should update all citations in the document that aren't in one of the two states I list above.Yes, it should, but sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes refreshing twice does, not always. As I say, there are document debugging steps that can be u…

There's no such thing as a "reset" of the document.Unless you're suggesting different terminology, that's not entirely true. Sometimes just refreshing once doesn't completely reset everything. There can be some echoes of old settings. It's rare, but…

I'm not certain, but can this be fixed by 'resetting' the document? You can try a few tricks for this: 1. Refresh the Zotero citations and see if that helps. 2. Copy/paste into a new document and refresh. 3. Change the citation style to something el…

Do you mean like "Smith 2000, as cited in Jones 2010"? There's no automated way to do that, so you can use prefixes/suffixes as needed, yes. Alternatively if you want to include both references in the bibliography, then you could use a suffix/prefix…

(Be careful about using "page" in case you use a style with an abbreviation like "p." or any other formatting that might make that look strange with another abbreviation. But yes, in general that can work.)
-
Again, I was doing this somewhat differently than suggested/discussed here, and it's a roundabout, awkward process. But, yes, it works. I'm not sure if the format would easily connect to the OP's needs (or if then it would just add one more step to …

(I'm hesitant to add this because you're already looking into a number of options I haven't used, but I had a similar question recently and at least for my uses I was able to convert plain text into usable MS Word citations indirectly via ODF as an …

(Sorry if that was confusing. I just meant that there would be nothing separate in the advisor's account. For example, it would only be this project with this RA, and not any other project with another RA, or similar situations. It's like the differ…

Will a new group library not work? https://www.zotero.org/support/groups Sharing a password seems like a bad idea for several reasons, including that it would be more work to switch between accounts, and then by default everything would be shared n…

Is there a reason you wouldn't share the library instead?

You can manually add anything you would like as a suffix, but those are the only automated options. See also, for the issue of combinations: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/81913/specify-volume-page-in-cite-does-zotero-permit-only-one-locator#…

1. Are you certain you have selected the non-footnote style within the document preferences setting for that document? It's different from your default style in the Zotero program, for example. 2. Have you tried refreshing your whole document? 3. …

An export as CSV is fairly complicated because of the level of detail, but that just reflects what's in your library. You can hide or delete columns as needed. The only way to simplify it would be to remove information. (The one piece that is tricky…

(Always save a backup of your documents first.) In principle, you should be able to just copy and paste everything into a single, combined document and add a bibliography. Try that, and if it does not work you can reply here and ask for more help. …

(damnation was not solving your problem, only telling you how to write code here on the forum: wrap it in the "code" tags so we can read it clearly.)

(Use the "code" tags here on the forum to share code in a readable way.)

DOI for all items is planned for a future version of Zotero, I believe. If you search for the forums for other more common item types like book you will see answers related to this. But for now you can always add any field manually in Extra in the …

Was the text (or the default style for your document) originally in italics? The way Zotero integrates into Word fields doesn't always accept changes made to existing paragraphs, but may "remember" an older setting. (More info: https://forums.zotero…

You can add a prefix or suffix within the citation when you use the add/edit citation popup. Click on the citation itself to get a more detailed dropdown menu where you can add them. These fields are below the page number.

Great, thanks. I have no objection, just was wondering. (I remember a similar kind of prompt about monitoring the keyboard (or similar) being an unintended warning a while ago.)

Any other input from the developers, or a general recommendation to accept/deny?

(@adamsmith are Chinese characters treated as "initials"? Or as whole names? Would they always appear, if any (even initials-only) disambiguation is needed?)

I understand your question, but I'm not actually sure of the best answer. I just wanted to verify that it makes sense, and to share a couple thoughts about possible workarounds. I do something similar with Chinese names, but I put them in brackets.…

In my case, I simply ignored the alert (and the system made it disappear after maybe 60 seconds), because I didn't want to disable any crucial functionality, but also wasn't sure I should enable this if it wasn't intended. Regardless, it didn't seem…

I don't believe the guidelines specify either way, and I'm sure that linguists would be happy to go along with the current DOI standard.

Looks perfect to me. I'd say this is fixed, unless there are any odd edge cases I haven't thought of. It works for standard entries across various types. -- By the way, one oddity with this style is that it still has the "doi:" prefix instead of "h…
