Hi again juliamodern, Your response to damnation came in while I was writing my comment above, and I was unaware of the new policy on issue numbers. I haven't kept up with the development of Zotero or CSL, but I suspect a style would be unable to…

Hi juliamodern. When I wrote this style 13 years ago, the JRAI didn't include issue numbers, just volume number and pages. I've just had a quick check of Volume 27 Issue 4 (Dec 2021) and, as far as I can see, sometimes the issue number is now incl…

Excellent, I will have a look at the new version and see if I have any more problems. Many, many thanks.
-
adamsmith, did you get to chance to look at the issues I mentioned and see if you could work out what the problem must be. I would certainly be very grateful if you could still have a look.
-
Thanks. 1) Regarding the initialisation. Well, this is not working for authors in the bibliography. The output should be, and was, like this: AAASurname, F., Name A. & Name A. 2000. Book Title (eds N. Editor & N. Editor2; trans N. Transl…

I'm not clear. Is your point that (1) there shouldn't be a URL at all, or (2) that the URL shouldn't have a period at the end, or that (3) the URL is for the catalogue not the actual item? (1) & (2) are easy enough to correct if they need …

You are right, this is the only way. If I want to enter more than one place, I just do it as you suggest. Some large publishers have many places. For example, the book in front of me has five 'places'. "Penguin Books, Harmondsworth, Middle…

I understand that this isn't currently possible, although it is planned for a future release. At the moment, Zotero just takes whatever is in the "Journal Abbr" field. Before you remove all the periods from your Zotero library, though, be warned t…

You are creating a "Web Page" item type in Zotero. The issue that you have is that when you export this to this from Zotero to Bibtex it uses the "misc" type. I'm not familiar with Bibtex, but a quick look online suggests that there is no Web Page …

Zotero obviously doesn't know what type of information you keep in your notes. If you want the bibliography to include information it needs to be in the appropriate field of the Info tab. If you copy the abstract text from your notes to the Abstra…

It certainly works for me. How are you generating your bibliography? Are you sure that the items you are using for your bibliography have text in the "Abstract" field on Zotero?
-
I've committed the updated style to the style repository.

Yes it seem the Word plug-in for Zotero can't cope with creating a bibliography in a master document which includes the citations in sub-documents. This is a shame. I guess the only solution is to cut and paste your current sub-documents into sect…

Currently, I'm dragging and dropping temporary png snapshots into my notes. But it doesn't seem to be stored physically in Zotero's file collection. Once I delete them and reopen the notes, they become broken links there. So where tehsheng was going…

I'm being silly, this doesn't have to be hosted anywhere. Just store the file on your local computer (in Zotero's files if you like) and link to it like this: Not sure how you would get the image to synch so you could access it on other computer…
-
One solution would be to host them on an image hosting website then use the html editor in the notes to embed an image, something like this: Obviously this requires an internet connection. There may be better ways.

Is your cursor in a citation when you select edit citation? If so, could you have pressed the 'remove codes' button on the Zotero controls in Word? This couldn't happen without a warning message, but if you have pressed this you cannot alter them …
-
For web pages you should have Author, abstract, website title, website type, date and more. Don't you see any of these? Have you actually selected this item in the central pane? If so, it will be highlighted in a grey colour.
-
Do you have any items in your library? You need to create or import an item before you can add any information.
-
"disambiguate-add-names" and "disambiguate-add-givenname" removed as requested.
-
I guess 95% of all citations are for books, book sections and journal articles, and as people are mostly giving their own unpaid time to write styles for Zotero, they are probably not motivated to write styles that cater for other less common refere…

Oh, you got there just before me...

Could they be in 'Trash'? These would still be in your database until the trash was emptied. Also, are you looking in your whole library rather than in a particular collection?
-
So are you saying the problem is still there when you use other styles or that it reappears when you return to the APSA style? If you are on a PC using MS Word (I don't know about other operating systems & word processors) you can use Alt+F9 to…
-
Just to be sure, have you tried a Zotero refresh for the document? Also, is this specifically a problem with the APSA style? Have you tried changing the style for the document and see if the problem still occurs?
-
What happens in the bibliography? Do the 2010a and 2010b references appear with identical information?
-
I'm not clear exactly what you mean. Apologies if your question is not what I've understood, because this answer is aimed at a Zotero beginner. If you are trying to reference one chapter in a edited book you should select book section. Once you've…
-
Right, sorry for the misunderstanding. In that case, I can't reproduce your problem. When I try, Zotero recognises the file without any problem whether I download it from the website and then drag the file into Zotero or whether I just drag the di…

document is reserved for published works Reserved by whom? Personally I think that a manuscript is a document that is prepared with the intention of publishing it (even if this may not have been achieved due to death etc.) and is therefore at a tra…

@ amicaro - that's a request specific to the Org Science style, which currently has no sorting for citations. This can be changed, but whether or not it should be depends on what is prescribed by Org Science style guide. I suggest you check and th…
