I wish I understood all this about signing. I don't. What I need to know, in short: is Zotero able to work for me, despite this warning? And, is there any fix I can apply?
-
I'm returning to this problem which appears to be particular to JSTOR. I'm not sure this is helpful but here is what I copied from the url window: http://www.jstor.org.pallas2.tcl.sc.edu/stable/10.2307/3287681?Search=yes&resultItemClick=tru…

Is there any way to work around this problem? I am trying to finish a book and dread going through each citation to solve this problem.
-
Thank you, as always, for prompt and clear assistance.
-
Am I copying or moving items I drag and drop?
-
That worked. Many thanks.

I am certain you did mention that before and I must have thought I had done everything I was told, but lessons taught are not lessons learned. Now I think I have it right. Thanks.

OK, so I need to work though my citations and correct in the "info" window whatever needs changing. There is no way to enter an en dash without copying and pasting you are telling me. Is that not something that can be fixed/changed on Zotero? Than…

I may have it wrong on the hyphenated names, or my copy editor does. I cannot find the CMOS rule on this. On en dashes between dates in titles, here is an example of the hyphen being used: Jonathan Sperber, The European Revolutions, 1848-1851, 2nd …

Where in the csl file to I add the date-part lines? Does it matter?
-
I'm using Zotero for Firefox thanks
-
What am I doing wrong? I open the csl file in notepad, but when I try edit > replace > "month" it does not find "month" Also, I do not understand the part of the step by step that tells me: ... drag-and-drop the CSL style file onto an open …

I'm looking at it but am not sure what I'm supposed to do to make my CMOS full note csl work as I want it to. I understand that I will need to save it with a different filename so that the auto rewrite does not undo my custom edit. That explains why…

Nevermind! Somehow the "Addon toolbar" had become unchecked on my Firefox View > Toolbars > Add-on bar I have no idea how that happened, but it was an easy fix.

Something was messed up in the MS Word Template. I copied the file into a new document with a corrected template, and it all came out just the way it was supposed to. Thanks again even if this was not a Zotero problem.

CMOS endnotes They are actually endnotes. I'll see what I can learn from MS Word. many thanks

Windows 7 Word 2010 New citations enter correctly but the conversion is not working. Does the error message mean anything to you?
-
I tried with a new document entering one endnote in CMS style using the Zotero Add-in tool. When I went to the Zotero set doc prefs button I got an error message: Zotero experienced an error updating your documnt. [Exception ..." Component returned…

Yes, I entered them using the Word plug in. I set the Document preference to Harvard 1. When I place the cursor on the superscript I see that the citation is changed to Harvard style but it is not visible in the text as (author year). What am I miss…

Thank you. All clear and auto back up is now set to include all the files in the Zotero profile (which are way out there on the branch!)
-
I may be missing the concept here. I want to back up My Library. Am I already doing that automatically with the sync? I used to do this routinely every few weeks and it worked fine. I think it has grown considerably in recent weeks and that is caus…

So I need to deal with Webroot on security. And I should return to the standard Zotero directory of my c: drive?
-
Yes, I installed Webroot, a new security system that is supposed to be among the best. Perhaps too thorough for my own good! What should I do to get around this?
-
I don't understand how it works. I tried installing the Abbreviation Filter but I don't see it in the Word plug in when I click on "add-ins" Where do I find it and how does one use it? thanks

I am still working with chapters all combined in one large document for convenience in editing. At some point closer to publication, in order to solve the problem of needing full citations for sources needed I will want to break down the chapters in…
-
In the meantime, I was able to save time in converting my citations with The New York Times to NYT by doing an advanced search in my Zotero library, entering The New York Times in the window for "Publication" and clicking on search. I had to enter N…

How does one use a serious text editor. I saw on Zotero actions > preferences > advanced that there is a csl editor but I did not know how to use it properly. I bet it is not that hard and I welcome your instruction.

I wrote too soon! I got it working. There were more of those strings than I thought and then I realized Notepad was saving it as a (useless) *.txt file instead of retaining its .csl extension. That was easy to fix once I realized what I was doing…
