@catherinebenton Have you emptied your Zotero trash folder? This can be found at the bottom of the collections list in the left hand pane. Right click on it and select "empty...".

Do you have any particular reason why it has to be a Word document? Zotero will generate HTML reports, giving the citation data and notes (whether they are "mostly notes" depends on how long your notes are), as described in this documentation.

Multi-file drag doesn't currently work on Windows, but it may be possible to restore that functionality in Firefox 3.6. Any news on whether this is likely to be possible now firefox 3.6 has been released? Alternatively are there any good workaround…

+1 for a quick recursive collections toggle. This would actually cover almost all of the use cases (or at least my use cases) for the request for "selecting multiple folders", which I added my vote to in this thread, while presumably being consider…

@shushi2000 Perhaps you mean the ability to assign colours to labels/tags? This is a planned feature - see this thread. Otherwise I don't know of any substantive difference between Gmail's labels and Zotero's tags.

Currently, in Zotero 2, it is not possible to select multiple folders in the browser tree. I suggested something similar a few months ago, as part of this thread. Basically a big +1 for this. It is probably the top feature on my wishlist at the mom…

You were almost there! In the "customise keyboard" popup you want to select "macros" rather than "add-ins tab" or "all commands", the Zotero actions should be listed there. At least in my installation of Word "macros" is listed directly underneath "…

You may already be aware of this, and I realise it is not a complete solution, but you can report spam users by clicking "report abuse" at the top of their personal page (under the "people" tab on the website).

Check if the film is still in your Zotero trash folder (at the botom of your collections list) - if it is right click on the trash folder to empty it.

Well, to answer your question: I suppose I am slightly concerned - but there is not much I can do about it given that PDFs are the de facto standard in my field. I of course take the standard precautions: I don't use acrobat - I use Bluebeam for …

but there's no reason not to use 2.0 Just to add to what Dan is saying - 2.0 without sync should actually be more stable than 1.0 (while also adding additional functionality). I say this because some bugs have emerged with 1.0 (none serious AFAIK) w…

Note that even after renaming, Firefox tabs showing the PDF will still be called "application/pdf" due to a limitation in Firefox. The only workaround I have found for this (as it gets to be a problem when you have more than about 4 PDFs open) is to…

It's not the smoothest solution but this can already be achieved using an advanced search i.e. tag -> is not -> D in the advanced search pane. I agree that it might be nice to have this functionality in the tag selector, but given the advanc…

@evelazquez Zotero is removed in the same way as any other firefox extension. If you are still having trouble please start a new thread (big red button at the top left).

I'm using an eeePC as well. Might this really have to do with screen size? How about you, Bionatsci and anders_royce? Sorry to put a dent in your theory but when I tested it I was using a 22" widescreen, connected to my laptop by DVI-D. When I get …

Bug confirmed on Windows Vista SP2, Firefox 3.6, Zotero 2.0 final. One thing I noticed, which may or may not be helpful, is that the title of the firefox window is not "Zotero" in the quasi-fullscreen restored state, so the part of the code which …

Are you using a custom theme in Firefox? If so, try switching back to the standard theme.

I think this is a good idea, although I don't personally use LaTeX* from what I know about it it would make the BibTeX workflow smoother. However, given that LaTeX users tend to be quite tech-savvy would it be acceptable to have this as a (well doc…

Firefox profiles do not, I believe, have pictures http://www.getpersonas.com/en-US/ As of 3.6 they can have.

I have already deleted the item indicated in these columns but the result doesn't change. It sounds like the item might still be in your Zotero trashcan (which is located in the left panel, expand "my library" and scroll down if necessary), Dan's ad…

Added to the tips and tricks page - feel free to copy-edit if you think the phrasing can be improved.

Do you use Zotero on two or more computers - and is it possible that one or more items have been modified on more than one computer prior to syncing? In this case a conflict resolution screen is expected and you should go through the conflict resolu…

Edit: Sorry, started writing this before arggem posted his comment - my comment pretty much replicates his. Assuming you are using one of the word processor plugins there is a "multiple sources" button in the "add citation" dialog box. In your case…

+1 - simple, intuitive and elegant.

This thread is where most of the rest of the discussion about the rationale for removing the snapshot and link buttons happened back in May.

There is a TinyMCE addon available for Vanilla (the software which powers these forums), available at: http://vanillaforums.org/addon/179/tinymce If the consensus is that a rich text editor for the forums is a good idea (I personally have no stron…

Has anybody tried working with a big document with citations only, without a reference list, which can be added when the document is finished? I'm considering doing this, as it seems to work well, but was wondering whether I might run into some othe…

Sorry about that, I had a quick scan of the linked thread but missed this: I'm also using it for section in a journal when the pagination is continuous along the year *but* only amongst the different section of the journal: Well, in that case, a +1 …

+1. This is a standard feature in most "collaborative commenting" tools (google wave, "comments" in Microsoft word, sticky notes in PDF editors etc.) and it would make good sense for it to be included in Zotero.
