Great app! Wish I had that when I started my phd-research a few years ago.

I would second this request. I switched working places (and thus proxy) a while ago, and it has been a huge nuisance after to find out I need to manually edit out the old proxy from the url's to reach them.
-
Just a quick update: it all works perfectly now, haven't run into any problems with zotero in combination with track changes in recent zotero versions.

For anyone familiar with R, I found the following script very helpful for exporting to CSV and easy to adapt for your own needs: http://www.robertvesco.com/2011/07/technology-open-source-software/using-r-to-extract-excelcsv-file-of-citation-dat…

Another possibility to make most efficient use of the available screen space would be to display the right two panes above each other, this would give a lot more horizontal space for the article list.

The standalone ships its own plugins and doesn't seem to have any mechanism to upgrade them independently. The downloadable plugins are firefox plugins (which I would need to download and install if that is the way to go).
-
Hi Simon, that is great news! I saw the updated plugins were released last week. Is there any way to get the same update with Zotero standalone or do I have to wait for the next beta/release? And how safe is it, should I still be wary of using …

Here is a screenshot for people unfamiliar with the papers layout: http://www.smallersystems.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/papers.png The authors field could work just like the current author field, which already gives you two separa…

My number one issue would be compatibility with "track changes" in Word. At the very least references should not be completely screwed up when one of my coworkers uses track changes with a paper we are collaborating on. This is the only thing keepin…

Even if the complete duplication detection functionality is not ready yet, would it be possible to enable detection of exact duplicates?? This doesn't seem difficult to implement, and if you use one resource for all reference information (e.g. pubme…

I deleted my whole firefox profile and all extensions, and then reinstalled zotero, and it works again now. Strange, but luckily it is solved for me.

I am using sync preview 3.5
-
Yes, e.g.: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez/6218315
-
MacBryce, you can do that already with the sync preview version and just sharing one zotero account I think.
-
Thanks, that is partly what I want. It does seems to work for bibliographies but not for reports. And I don't want it that way in zotero itself so I have to enable it, print, and then disable it again. Also I still cannot get a report sorted by subc…
-
There was a script someone posted somewhere earlier here that could do that , but it would be nice if zotero included that functionality.
-
Good to hear! It would probably be good though to include a warning that this will send your credentials unencrypted over the internet.
-
Thanks!

Why are only HTTPS transfer supported for WebDAV?
-
A suggestion for the preferences dialog: why don't you combine those two options shown there in one "enable automatic proxy support" option? I assume both are needed for this to function properly and it is not very useful to enable one without the o…
-
Ah yes that works, quite nice and very useful. That will save a lot of time!
-
And it is still a bit of a mystery to me how I can make use of it. I enabled it when I was asked, but if I then later go to e.g. the new england journal of medicine webpage its url doesn't get rewritten like I thought it was supposed to.
-
Ok it works now, but it is a bit of a confusing dialog. Zotero is only mentioned in the fourth or fifth line of text.
-
Ah ok. When I use my university's proxy I get a dialog box with a yellow background and this error: XML-parsefout: ongedefinieerde entiteit Locatie: chrome://zotero/content/proxy.xul Regelnummer 19, kolom 18: &zotero.proxy.recognized.warning…
-
Nice. Would be cool if zotero would save to a standardized filename itself instead of having to do something like this yourself.
-
I would suggest adding a special interest - medicine category as well
-
Cool! Thanks!

Another option is c2bib (http://www.molspaces.com/d_cb2bib-overview.php), which works on windows too. If you import the list of pdf´s and do a network reference query for each of them you will get a nice bibtext file which you can import in zotero. …

This might work: Referencer (http://icculus.org/referencer) is a program that runs on linux (I would suggest using Ubuntu) and automatically retrieves the pdf's metadata provided it includes an arXiv ID or DOI code. It generates a bibtex f…
