Quoting my very first response on this thread: This is a general issue with Word for Mac unfortunately. After restarting Zotero, when you cite in a new document for the first time with "automatically update citations" disabled, the initial cite will…

Can you make a screen recording of you checking Zotero.dotm in Word add-ins and one that displays Zotero tab not appearing and post it here?
-
The debug log you've submited doesn't show a slowness that's not ordinary. It could be a little faster, and that's Apple's or Microsoft's fault, we are just using the tools they have provided for plugin developers, so we can only be as fast as their…

When you use the Zotero citation dialog, if you want to cite multiple items in a citation, you should add them all to the citation in the dialog. If you are using Zotero 7 with the classic citation dialog, you need to click the Multiple Sources butt…

You sent us a snippet document to test. Do you see the same erroneous behaviour on that document that you see with your main document, since you say you don't see the issue in a new document? Could you create a screen recording of the issue that yo…

There was a problem with ScienceDirect website translator and we have addressed it now so saving from the article page should work again.

If you open Zotero and go to 127.0.0.1:23119, does a page load that says "No endpoint found"? If you go into Word startup folder is there a ZoteroPort.txt file in there? Does removing it and attempting to cite work then?
-
The video you sent us is showing you starting Zotero and insert one citation. The point that I have repeatedly explained above, is that first insert after restarting Zotero is going to be slow. The question is whether subsequent citation inserts or …

In a new user account does Zotero.dotm option show up under Word Add-ins? Is it checked, and if not does checking it help?
-
Adding citations with the Zotero plugin always edits the undo history like that on macOS. Unfortunately we don't have a way to control it. Regarding the error, you should follow the troubleshooting page posted above.
-
@carolineolesky In the original document where you are seeing problems can you open Zotero document preferences, change the citation style to something else (like APA) then change back to your style? Does that fix the issue?
-
I do NOT see this behaviour with 7.0.30. I used the same doc that I sent to you. Once I use document preferences to swap to MHRA, it does not do anything else: trying to insert a reference just takes me to main Zotero window, but does not allow inse…
-
Does it show if you create a new Windows user account and test there?
-
@NicolaJohnson I've looked at the document that you've sent us, and aside from it using a custom citation style, once I switched to MHRA with endnotes and automatic updates disabled, and attempted to insert citations, everything worked as described.…

The underline from inserted citations will be removed when you press Refresh in the Zotero tab. The underline is there to remind you that those citations have not been updated according to thoe whole of your document, and appropriate formatting appl…

Provide a Debug ID for an operation that doesn't work in your document. Describe what you did at each step of the troubleshooting instructions and what happened.
-
Word>Zotero>Document Preferences>Cite : Zotero keeps forgetting the cite style. Every single time I open a new Word for Mac document I have to go to 'document preferences' and set it to MHRA. It keeps defaulting to one I used last year. Thi…

That is not a Debug ID for a Zotero restart. Please follow the instructions on the page linked above.
-
What version of Word are you running (In Word press File -> Account -> About Word)?
-
You can provide Debug ID for an operation that fails from Zotero and we may be able to help, but otherwise you will have to follow the Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents steps.
-
Inevitably, although it will depend on operations. If you disable automatic citation updates, then in theory citing should not be much slower than what you are currently seeing. If it were slower, you can send a document where the issue is reproduci…

Did you test this on a different existing Windows account, or did you create a new one for testing when asked above? Where is Office installed on your computer? Did the plugin used to work before?
-
Restart Zotero. Only open the relevant document in Chrome, do not open any other documents. Submit a Debug ID from Zotero (not Zotero Connector) for an attempt to insert a bibliography in the document.
-
The latest version of Zotero is 7.0.30.
-
Note that all the previously inserted citations in this document are now unlinked, and when you e.g. try to insert/update bibliography, only the citations added after this recompilation of the document will be added. This effectively means that you…
-
When you log in into the new user account, you should either completely sign off from your main account (not just switch accounts), or at least close Zotero on the main account, before trying this.
-
You might benefit from improvements added to Zotero Beta, specifically a progress bar is now displayed while the document is being refreshed by Zotero. Regarding underlining, if you refresh and some of your citations stay underlined, it means you m…

Could you produce a Debug ID for a Zotero restart? Make sure you wait a few seconds after the Zotero application fully loads.
-
Zotero is based on Firefox, which itself relies on system libraries as well as packaged ones. This isn't a widely reported linux bug, as such, presumably Zorin includes some non-standard system libraries from other more mainstream distros. Particula…

Could you temporarily change the language of Windows to English (US) and see if the issue still occurs? You may need to restart Windows in between language changes.
