There isn't a general issue with the word plugin. See Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents and Reporting Problems.

Hmm. Google performs A/B tests from time to time (where they run a different version of their website for a small portion of their users to test changes) so this is most likely related to that. Unless this is something that shows up for a larger num…

Could you take a screenshot of the Google Docs editor that you see with your university account. Can you tell if it's visually different from the editor you see with your personal account somehow?
-
Do you have a different Google account that you could test with and confirm it also occurs there? Could you test with Chrome and see if it occurs there?
-
Does this happen if you disable all other extensions (or try in a new Firefox profile)?

Where do you see this folder? This would be a remnant from earlier Zotero versions that supported Word 2008 on Mac. We generally try to remove any earlier versions of plugins that are no longer supported, but depending on how it was installed we may…

See Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents. What is the full version of Word that you are using?

If you create a new temporary Windows user account on this machine does it work there?

Does it fix itself if you go into Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors and reinstall the Word plugin? You make sure neither Zotero nor Word is running as Administrator (right-click program shortcut -> Compatibility).

What is the full version number of Word? You need to make sure you running the latest version Word, even if it is 2013. You can also get non-subscription versions of Word 2021 or 2024, but Zotero works fine with 2013 too. However Zotero has no part …

Then all you need to do is press Refresh in your original document or, possibly, Add/Edit Bibliography if you hadn't inserted it before. For the record, as far as I can tell, this is your situation: You have a document where you manually edited eve…

Can you tell more about your document? How many citations does it have? Did you previously insert a bibliography? In Document Preferences are Automatic Citation Updates disabled? If so, have you tried using the Refresh button in the plugin?

Unless you explain what you did step-by-step, we're unlikely to be able to help you. Zotero operations normally won't put your documents into an unrecoverable state unless you perform some incompatible editing in e.g. the document transfer state. T…

Yes. See https://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data if you want to know where Zotero stores your data.

What is the full version number of Office/Word that you are using? Make sure you are running the latest official version.

The plugin is mostly finished, but there are some issues on Word Online editor's side that we are working through with Microsoft. As this requires some back-and-forth and unclear when all issues can be cleared up we cannot give a release timeline.

You can uninstall Zotero fully wherever it is installed and reinstall the newest version. Your data will not be affected.

Submit another Report ID after attempting to insert a citation.

You need to put Zotero.dotm into your Word Startup folder and add it to trusted locations. You should also remove Program Files/Zotero from the trusted locations. You should make sure that your Word Startup folder is set to the default location. See…

Could you take a screenshot of the File Locations dialog in Word which shows the location of the startup folder?

If you are having issues with the Zotero Connector you should report that. If you do not have it enabled while copying and pasting citations in Google Docs, they will unlink. For your specific issue now see Reporting Problems and provide steps of wh…

version => 6.0.30 For some reason you are not getting Zotero updates. The latest version of Zotero 6 is 6.0.37, but you can also upgrade to Zotero 7 which is now released as stable. You should update and figure out why you didn't get any updates.…

We recommend removing any current installations of LibreOffice and installing it either via the apt repository or by downloading it directly from the LibreOffice website. Then the automatic installer should just work. Let us know if you still have p…

Are you saying this happens on multiple word documents or just a single one? Does removing the Table of Contents form the document help?

@JuriaMasters Could you provide a Debug ID for an attempt to insert a citation into a document that is saved in OneDrive? EDIT: Actually if you switch to Zotero 7 it's likely going to work fine.

It seems that you used the Moving Documents with Zotero Citations Between Word Processors procedure. If you are splitting your document up into multiple parts, you don't need to do that. You only need to copy the chapters and paste them into a new d…

This seems like a weird behaviour with ScienceDirect website. If you open the link above and scroll to the top of the page, the scrollbar of the sidebar doesn't appear. It only appears once you scroll down beyond the ScienceDirect website header. Th…
