Zotero checks the first paragraph in the document to see if it has the text "ZOTERO_TRANSFER_DOCUMENT", and if it does, it initiates the procedure to convert it back into an active document version. I haven't had the chance to look into why it break…
-
Yes, we will have a fix some time later, but you can just work with the document where you remove the bookmarks (or at least the bookmarks at the first line of the transfer document).
-
This is not something that Zotero (or any reference manager) supports. It's something we would like to have, but it comes with a big technical challenge that we currently don't have the resources to dedicate to.

Table of content bookmarks seem to use the `_Toc` prefix in Word, but I don't quite know enough about Word's ToC system to say whether the bookmarks in your document could be from the ToC. Also, to be more specific, the bookmark that causes the issu…

Oh, good regarding 2. This saves me time debugging. Bookmarks like those should not cause this error, so we'll fix it in a future update. Do you have any idea who or what inserted those bookmarks?
-
What's the full version of Word that you used to write this document?
-
Could you also submit a Report ID and post it here?
-
You will need to be more specific. What OS, what document editor are you using? Did you try the troubleshooting steps? What happened at each step? Also submit and post here a Report ID.

Can you refresh your manuscript on the same computer in a new Windows user account? See step 11 in Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents if it crashes even in a new user account.

How are you trying to remove broken citations? You're supposed to just delete them from the text in Google Docs. Generally if you see {Updating} in the document after all Zotero progress dialogs have closed, it means something went wrong when insert…

We cannot help with Opera since we do not officially support it. It's likely caused by other extensions or some Opera security or privacy feature.

Please describe your issue in full and what you have tried for troubleshooting so far. What OS and browser?
-
Sorry, this is a Google Docs issue that we have reported to them and they said they are looking for a fix. In the meantime go into the Connector Preferences -> Advanced and disable Google Docs Integration v2.

If you go into Zotero installation folder, is there an `extensions` folder in it? How about a Word and OpenOffice extension subfolders in there? Do those have `chrome.manifest` files? Can you restart Zotero, then go into your profile directory, take…

Is there any proprietary security software installed on this computer? Can you disable it, restart Zotero and see if it works? If not, reinstall Zotero with the security software disabled and see if it works then?
-
@udonna Happy to hear it works. Thanks for working with us through this, we'll have another potential fix suggestion for other Zotero users that might run into this in the future.
-
By "reproduce in a new document" I meant can you insert a few citations in a new document and produce a bibliography?
-
You're supposed to follow the (8) instruction steps at the top of that page for registry entries, i.e. back up and then delete the Registry folders completely, starting with the Options folder for your version of Word. I didn't recommend reinstallin…

Restart Zotero and Word. Can you reproduce this in a new document?

Some users that had similar Word config issues in the past didn't manage to solve them even when resetting word config. Still, it is worth a try, since switching a Windows user account is likely a less preferable option. See https://support.microsof…

You are running an extremely old version of Zotero. Please update to the latest version and try whatever you're doing again.

This is Field Shading, toggled in View -> Field Shading. It's a cosmetic option intended to help discern fields from regular text and will not appear in print.

Thanks for suggestions @DWL-SDCA, but this is strictly a Word issue here. Word refuses to execute one particular command issued by Zotero. We don't really see this issue from anyone in such a consistent manner as yourself @udonna, but when similar i…

Thanks for sending the video in, that is helpful. Try disabling all other extensions in Word except for Zotero, restarting Word and inserting the citations that cause issues again. If that doesn't help, it might be worth it to create a new Windows u…

Yes it does, thanks. I've created a ticket to track this.

Restart your computer and try again.

If you can share with us a document where you can reproduce this issue (which does not rely on switching the citation style from a previous one that uses endnotes), we will look. Provide the precise steps to reproduce the issue along with the docume…

It would and I don't know why we don't do it. A quick search in the LibreOffice API docs reveals that there doesn't seem to be a way to control that, but the LibreOffice API is kind of complicated and I wouldn't be surprised if it's hidden somewhere.
