Submit a Debug ID after restarting Zotero and Word, and attempting to insert citations in a new document. Try disabling non-English language text-proofing in Word, and see if that helps.

Are you writing in a non-English language? Does it still crash if you disable spellchecking in this document for your language?

Are you logged in into only one Google Account? On Browser restart, when attempting to cite with Zotero, do you not get a popup browser window which asks to choose an account to use? Does this work in a new browser, or a different Firefox profile?

Do you run any security software on this machine? Is it your personal computer or managed by an institution? Could you create a new test Windows user account and see if it works there?

Based on this Debug ID you either pressed Cancel in the Document Preferences dialog, or perhaps chose an invalid style. Did you press OK in the dialog? Was a valid citation style selected in it? Does choosing a different style help?
