We've updated the Beta again. The issue should be fixed. Could you check and confirm that it works fine for you with the most recent version?
-
Restart Zotero in Troubleshooting Mode (Help -> Restart in Troubleshooting Mode), restart your browser and see if it's fixed. If it is, one of your plugins in Zotero is causing it and you will have to figure out which one.

@jg.ho @jin9465 @braxon For the longest time Word didn't even show the Zotero tab in the quick access list of options. They seem to have tried to fix it, but it indeed doesn't work. It's a Word bug. However you can add Zotero functions to the Quick …

Yes, it's still in the works. Sorry for the optimistic timeline. We nearly have the fix ready, but I'll avoid giving timelines in case it gets held up again.

Submit a Debug ID for an attempt to install the plugin. You can also see https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_manual_installation
-
Ah yes, my mistake. We have pushed an update to the Zotero Beta. Would you test that and see if you still get an error?
-
You should try disabling all extensions but Zotero on Chrome and see if it works. If it works on Edge, it means something in your Chrome setup, either extensions or configuration is preventing the Zotero Connector from working.

Submit a Debug ID from Zotero (not the Connector) for an attempt to perform an operation that fails.

Submit a Debug ID from Zotero (not the Zotero Connector) for an attempt to insert a citation.

Where is the automatic hyphenation option in Word? It might be possible that it got fixed with a Word update.
-
If you see this again, please provide a screenshot of the issue. Better yet if you can figure out what steps you took for that to occur. If a Word restart makes the field codes disappear, then it's most likely indeed just the case of the Word field …

@tardaguila3 Also see Reporting Problems and Troubleshooting Issues with Zotero Translators and provide more information.

You are running a preview (beta) version of Word. Could you switch to a non-beta channel and check if you can reproduce the issue with the Zotero Beta?
-
Have you tried restarting your computer? Does it work with other browsers (Firefox, Edge)? Do you have other extensions installed in the browser that may be interfering?
-
Submit a Debug ID from Zotero for an attempt to insert a citation that fails. Also follow Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents

See Reporting Problems. Provide information about what word processor and what version you use. Include a Report ID.

@Pixm79 Could you clarify what version of Word this is? Open a Word document, choose File from the top left corner, and then click either Account or Help in the left nav bar. You’ll see your Office version and information under Product information, …

Did it used to work before? Are you running any proprietary security software?

Restart Zotero and refresh the Google Docs page. If the issue persists see Reporting Problems and provide more information.

If you open a new Word document, then open Terminal.app and paste in curl -X GET "http://127.0.0.1:23119/integration/macWordCommand?agent=MacWord16&command=addEditCitation&document=/Applications/Microsoft Word.app/&templateV…

Thanks for the report. We'll look to fix this before releasing these changes on the non-beta release. I've created an issue to track it.
-
Could you produce a Debug ID from Zotero (not the Zotero Connector)? Following Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents is likely to help.
-
Try removing Zotero and reinstalling it, then restart Safari. Your data won't be affected.
-
If you restart Safari does it start working correctly?
-
Are you saying that this worked before? When was the last time (or which version) this worked?

See https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/396486/#Comment_396486 and the comments that followed. Some macOS Audio plugins may interfere with the Zotero Word plugin.

It looks like you are installing a Zotero.dotm meant for Windows. Where did you get this file? Make sure you remove it from the Word startup folder. Then follow Manually Installing the Zotero Word Processor Plugin instructions specifically for macOS…

The Zotero Plugin in Word sends a HTTP request to Zotero which is running a server. Security software or system configuration may block it. If you open a browser with the Zotero plugin installed and try to save any webpage, does that succeed or also…

Restart Zotero and refresh the Google Docs page, then submit a Debug ID from Zotero for an attempt to insert a citation.

We don't have an ETA for the updated Word plugin, but it's unlikely to be within the next month. Your best bet for the refresh on a big doc to work is to make sure you only have one Word document open, which is the document you are refreshing and ha…
