Do you have a table of contents or other advanced Word fields in this document? Does it help if you remove those temporarily?
-
None of these sound like Zotero issues. Zotero doesn't technically insert footnotes, or footnote-citations. When you select a footnote style, Zotero insert a Word footnote for you, then inserts the citation into the body of the footnote. Afterwards …

Generally the browser updates extensions and you shouldn't need to do anything. To check if the extension is updated, you need to go to Extension settings, either about:extensions on Edge and Chrome, or about:addons and choose the option to update a…

Update to the latest version of the Zotero Connector, refresh the Google Docs page and then in the Zotero menu press Refresh. Your bibliography should be updated to have the correct style.

See Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents. You need to follow the instructions in full and if nothing helps provide additional troubleshooting information for us to be able to help you.

Yeah, seems to not work. See https://github.com/zotero/zotero-google-docs-integration/issues/81 for details.

In the screenshots you have posted on 22 December you showed Zotero citations as hyperlinks, which would happen if you used the "Switch Word Processors..." button, but the issue you have described also sounded like maybe you split your document into…

You should restart your browser and try using the plugin again. Zotero will prompt you for permissions once more.

Yes, as long as it's the latest version of macOS that is supported on your Mac.

You should upgrade to the latest version of macOS. Let us know if the issue persists afterwards.

Submit a Report ID. What version of macOS are you running?

Can you confirm that this doesn't work with two new documents? Do you use any software that interacts with your clipboard somehow?
-
Sorry, but this isn't an issue with Zotero with a default Windows installation. It is caused by some custom configuration of the machine interfering with the Zotero plugin messaging mechanism. There were some minor changes and initial bugs with Zote…

The simplest way to fix these is to remove them completely in Word and reinsert. Make sure you select the item from My Library section, not from Cited (if using the Red citation dialog).
-
Given that this is an organization managed machine you will have to troubleshoot it with your IT. You may try reinstalling Zotero 6 and if it works, that would be an additional piece of information to provide to your IT, but note that Zotero 6 is no…

If you have added other text into your footnotes besides Zotero citations, Zotero will not be able to automatically convert them to in-line citations (to avoid discarding your added text). You will have to convert those manually.

There isn't a general issue with the word plugin. See Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents and Reporting Problems.

Hmm. Google performs A/B tests from time to time (where they run a different version of their website for a small portion of their users to test changes) so this is most likely related to that. Unless this is something that shows up for a larger num…

Could you take a screenshot of the Google Docs editor that you see with your university account. Can you tell if it's visually different from the editor you see with your personal account somehow?
-
Do you have a different Google account that you could test with and confirm it also occurs there? Could you test with Chrome and see if it occurs there?
-
Does this happen if you disable all other extensions (or try in a new Firefox profile)?
-
Where do you see this folder? This would be a remnant from earlier Zotero versions that supported Word 2008 on Mac. We generally try to remove any earlier versions of plugins that are no longer supported, but depending on how it was installed we may…

See Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents. What is the full version of Word that you are using?

If you create a new temporary Windows user account on this machine does it work there?
-
Does it fix itself if you go into Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors and reinstall the Word plugin? You make sure neither Zotero nor Word is running as Administrator (right-click program shortcut -> Compatibility).
-
What is the full version number of Word? You need to make sure you running the latest version Word, even if it is 2013. You can also get non-subscription versions of Word 2021 or 2024, but Zotero works fine with 2013 too. However Zotero has no part …

Then all you need to do is press Refresh in your original document or, possibly, Add/Edit Bibliography if you hadn't inserted it before. For the record, as far as I can tell, this is your situation: You have a document where you manually edited eve…

Can you tell more about your document? How many citations does it have? Did you previously insert a bibliography? In Document Preferences are Automatic Citation Updates disabled? If so, have you tried using the Refresh button in the plugin?
-
Unless you explain what you did step-by-step, we're unlikely to be able to help you. Zotero operations normally won't put your documents into an unrecoverable state unless you perform some incompatible editing in e.g. the document transfer state. T…

Yes. See https://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data if you want to know where Zotero stores your data.
