When I open this document I get this prompt: https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u2735919/xij5qui8gf7la92pifi6.png A Word component responsible for localization or spell-checking is most likely causing the crash. I cannot reproduce th…

This shows the item is saving successfully. Why do you think it's failing? Is it possible, that the connector is authorized for a different account?
-
Could you provide a Debug ID for an attempt to save on a normal page (e.g. this forum thread page)?
-
The debug log you've submitted doesn't show you successfully inserting an item after restart though? It just fails. Are you saying it works fine in a new document, the issue only occurs in your existing doc? Could you open the document where this is…

There are two identical "(Stone et al., 2021; Washif et al., 2025)" citations on page 8. You need to remove the Forbes item from both of them.
-
What is the full version number of Microsoft Word that you are running? Does it happen in a new document?
-
@tacitojr There seem to be a couple of things that have happened that may have caused the issue: 1. You may have corrected the metadata of a Helms authored item to be attributed to Forbes in your Zotero library. 2. You later tried to remove the old …

I cannot reproduce this on Ubuntu. Either way, you should report this to their bugtracker, since this is a bug on their end. Make sure to include your system information.
-
The file you have sent in does not contain a bibliographic entry for Forbes et al. 2022.
-
I cannot reproduce the XML error with Word 16.111 (26071325). If I add an item from Zotero tab into Quick Access, it is silently discarded and does not appear. Historically, this hasn't worked, and you could not even get entries in the quick access …

Update Word to the latest version available. Restart your computer. If it continues, follow Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents
-
Given this is new, it's very likely a Microsoft Word issue introduced with an update. Zotero has not made any changes to its plugin for a few months. You may try downloading an earlier version of Word, or try editing your file in a new Windows User …
-
This isn't normal behaviour. If the Zotero citation insertion progress bar disappears, and you see {Updating} still in your document, it means the citation failed to insert. We've not had reports of users seeing the {Updating} marker remaining witho…

You should download each tab as a separate document and refresh them. If you then want to merge them, copy the contents of each tab into a single document. There you will be able to work on the tabs as if they are a single document.
-
Then it means that you didn't successfully reinstall the plugin in Word. You should manually remove Zotero.dotm from your Word startup folder, and restart Word to make sure the tab disappeared. If it hasn't, it's possible that your Word startup fold…
-
If you open Zotero.dotm directly and allow macros, does citing work then? Did it work before on this machine?
-
In Google Docs go into Files and choose "Save as Google Doc"
-
What version of Firefox are you running? Is it up to date? Can you submit a Debug ID from Zotero Connector, not Zotero app?
-
Can you make a screen recording of an attempt to insert a citation in this document that fails? Can you follow the last step of Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents (you may need to restart Zotero in between attempts), and share a docu…

This is a Word bug/issue, not Zotero, so you might want to report this to Microsoft. Adding Zotero commands to quick-access toolbar works, and persists after Word restart.
-
https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#zotero_toolbar_doesnt_appear Please describe what you did at each step and what happened.

Either remove the bibliography, and reinsert it again, or use the Add/Edit Bibliography button, to open the Edit Bibliography dialog, and remove the items that are not cited.
-
What version of Word are you running? Resetting your Normal.dotm (by moving it somewhere else and restarting Word) may fix this.
-
Restart Zotero and your browser and try again. If after attempting to insert a citation you don't see a citation dialog, look through open Zotero windows to find it.
-
If it works with another Windows user account it means its broken on your main one due to some configuration options, or software or plugins installed, either in Word or in the OS. You could try to reset Word user settings, and see if it helps. Othe…
-
How was this document produced? Did it work before and suddenly stop? How long have you waited? The debug log you've submitted shows that Zotero is waiting for Word plugin to retrieve citations, which in a document of this scope unfortunately can ta…

You should redownload Zotero from zotero.org/downloads and reinstall it again. Otherwise, you may try downloading Zotero.dotm manually and placing it in the Word startup folder. If none of this helps, you could try creating a new temporary Windows u…

The fix is now available in the Zotero Beta if you want to try that. The LibreOffice plugin should reinstall automatically, but you may need to restart LibreOffice for it to be picked up. Otherwise you can update the plugin via Zotero Preferences.
-
Right, we received your documents. There's currently a bug with documents that have a table as the first element in them, or possibly the first element after a section break. We have a fix for that that will be released in the Zotero Beta soon. If y…

Could you send a small sample document to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread where you have a table that is not at the start of the document with a citation, and where further citations are not inserted. Also produce a Debug ID for an att…
