And I was premature even with that: Version 0.0.16 of that plugin no longer has the problem.

It was the PubPeer plugin. Have now reported it at https://github.com/PubPeerFoundation/pubpeer_zotero_plugin/issues/48.

Thank you very much for your answers. Regarding dragging one search into another one: I had not thought about that until you mentioned it, but it would make sense for that to mean creating a new search that combines the parent search with the child …

Thanks for reminding me to disable plugins when experiencing problems. This problem has indeed gone away.

Hi @felipehw . Thank you for the additional information. It is great to be able to see on GitHub how this change arose. And thank you very much for your work on maintaining that flatpack package for zotero. What a great community spirit!
-
@dstillman , that reply was exceedingly helpful. Many thanks. I had indeed installed Zotero via the Software manager in Linux Mint which uses Flatpak. That had worked for a while, but that installation updates itself from time to time, and the lates…

@dstilman, a second question: Do you have an idea of why the window that zotero pops up when I choose a data directory does not show all my directories but only a small selection?
-
@dstillman, thank you for your prompt reply. Is there a way to find out for which file the existence check is failing?
-
Yes, that is right. No error message. Usually when I use a connector to save to zotero and the download of the pdf fails, this is indicated by a cross in front of the pdf in the popup window. In this case there is no such error indication and the po…

@adamsmith, unfortunately it looks as if researchgate haven't seen your tweet.

Thank you Dan. It turns out that the problem disappears when I disable the ZoteRename add-on. I have emailed the developer of that add-on.

Yes, that is true, the select links do now work from notes in Zotero. I am using them in the standalone Zotero. However besides the desired efect of focusing on the linked reference, they also have the undesired effect of opening an empty window. Th…

Thank you very much for posting this summary. Has anything happened on this front over the last two years since your post?

I would have thought this would be easier for the web version than for the desktop version. The web version can just fetch the content of the url and inject the same javascript that the bookmarklet injects, I would have thought.
-
+fcheslack, thank you very much, that works! I'll also submit a feature request to add a button to the web interface that allows adding an item by its identifier. That feature exists in the desktop version and would remove the need to install a…

Thank you, the repair tool fixed the problem.

When I started Zotero standalone for the first time it simply asked me whether I wanted to use the same library as in Zotero Firefox. I clicked yes and all worked just fine. No need to move anything.
-
Thanks ajlyon. Yes, a different behavior of Zotero's current collection status in every zotero tab that I have open is a good thing. What is not good is that a new zotero app tab is automatically created in each firefox window I open. That is not th…

The fact that I have nor received any comments on this issue of duplicating zotero tabs could indicate either that 1) the problem only happens to me or 2) I have not described the problem sufficiently clearly or 3) this bug has already been d…

Yes, thank you, that fixed it for me.

Yes, many thanks indeed for responding to this so quickly. I am able to do without zotero for a day or two. Should I just wait for the new release candidate, rather than using devXPI? Are you planning on releasing the next release candidate th…

I am happy to report that the discussion of zotero 2.0 has started again at http://groups.google.com/group/zotero-dev/browse_thread/thread/4b7e8453b3b4c95d?hl=en

I am a bit worried by the fact that no zotero developer has responded on this thread since last July, over 8 months ago. Is the discussion of zotero 2.0 taking place in another place that I have not yet found? Or are they being conducted in privacy?
