The Extra field is good for this, something like: Nickname: Great paper Group nickname: The Awesome Group
-
Can you point to an example of guidelines or an article for frontiers with another style? The Frontiers style was developed by the publisher themselves
-
You can also open the Find and Replace window in Word, search for ^d to find all Fields and replace with a blank box to delete them. Then count your words and undo
-
Apple takes a 20 or 30% cut from all purchases in the App Store, so I would guess this would not happen
-
Colored tags, especially if you make them emoji like ✔️ really do accomplish the done/read/annotated purpose well. These appear next to the item title in the item list
-
The Zutilo plugin can add a “Make chapter from book” option to the right click menu for this use case
-
Yes, it is correct APA 7th edition style to include the last author in a bibliography reference to 21+ authors with et-al-use-last
-
To be clear, the way to enter a name variable like this in Extra is: Compiler: Last || First Compiler isn’t programmed to work for any CSL yet, so the output may not be as expected. Note that APA style does not call for compilers to be cited in t…

Change to a numeric style like Cell
-
Colored tags are the way to do this. Colored tags add a little colored square next to the item title in the list. If you make the colored tag an emoji, that character will show instead, such as ⭕️❌✔️ https://www.zotero.org/support/collections_and…

If the names really are consistent, do note that it is correct APA style to include author initials like this if multiple different authors have the same last name (even non-first authors). Are you citing other Smith-Jones ?
-
That type is just a special case of Book Section in Jurism, so go with Book Section I would say
-
I missed the iOS note in your post
-
You can disable automatic updates from the Document Preferences window in the Zotero tab in Word. This has essentially the same effect as Endnote’s feature.
-
You are somewhat mistaken about APA style. For journal articles, the publisher is not included at all. The journal title is in italics. If no italics are shown, it might be https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/italics_in_word_bibliographies Otherwis…

It would make sense to me to be able to edit annotations and have both user’s names next to them. Particularly because annotations can later be inserted as citations into documents.
-
@moltaire “ScienceDirect” there is indicating that the PDF was downloaded from the official publisher website, either because you had access or it was open access there. That’s the excepted behavior
-
Yes, the major reason for many of the design choices in the Zotero PDF Reader was to facilitate collaboration in annotation in Group PDFs
-
Look into Zotero’s Feeds feature. You can subscribe to each journal’s RSS feed, read the abstract for each article, then save the ones you want to keep to your library. https://Zotero.org/support/feeds
-
Let’s take a step back because it doesn’t sound like you need that sheet at all. That’s for bibliographies made with Word’s built-in feature. If you have a PDF with many references, use https://anystyle.io to extract them.
-
Please send an email to storage@zotero.org including your Zotero username and the quantity of storage you would like to purchase (2 GB, 6 GB, or unlimited).
-
Footnote numbers are controlled by Word, not Zotero. So you can use circled numbers in note styles by adjusting the footnote styling in Word
-
Type shift+enter and you can put multiple identifiers in the field, each on its own line
-
What style and version of Zotero? This shouldn’t happen
-
This is automatically done by Zotero’s citation processor—Chinese, Japanese, and Korean characters are never written in italics
-
First one has the full bibliography reference in the first note, then short one thereafter. Second one always has the short (like standard APA in-text) citations and only has the full references in the bibliography
-
See https://Zotero.org/support/sync
-
Sorry, I meant the second line. Change class="note" to class="in-text"
-
At least being able to remove group libraries would be hugely helpful. When I am done teaching a course or doing a systematic review, I really don’t need those libraries in my local database, but removing them requires syncing down a fresh database …

to be specific, take Chicago (full note) and change it to an “intext” style in the first line of the style. Then, manually insert the first citation for an item into a footnote, rather than in text.
