You can also do in Extra: Original date: 1911 If you need more than the year or a date range, enter them like this: Original date: 1911-04-30/1911-09-25

If you are actually writing in TeX with Zotero, you want to install the BetterBibTeX plugin and use its “Better BibTeX” or “Better BibLaTeX” formats. Those are designed to handle a wide manner of peculiarities of TeX parsers.

I really recommend just having one person handle the referencing. Even if everyone was using Zotero, I’ve found getting everyone to be conscientious about checking their library data is really hard, easier to just have one person be responsible
-
I would strongly recommend switching to Zotero. https://Zotero.org/support/kb/mendeley_import

If you have multiple authors with the last name Li that you cite, it is correct APA style to add the initials for disambiguation.
-
Yes https://pubsonline.informs.org/pb-assets/INFORMSReferencesStyle.pdf
-
Make a collection in Zotero and add all of the items to that collection. Right click on the collection and export a .bib from it and tell BetterBibTeX to keep that file updated.
-
You can also use the Zutilo plugin to set a different keyboard shortcut for export, or to make the citekeys a secondary format and leave the default another format
-
The note editor in Zotero 6 supports markdown entry for headings, italics, bold, bold-italics, and code text, as well as code blocks, block quotes, links, and images

The Zotero CSL style for APA is meticulously tested against the manual. It formats citations to these types of items correctly. If you want to see my recommendations for entering the APA manual items, see https://www.zotero.org/groups/2205533/test…
-
What do you mean by that?
-
@dstillman Can this style be added to the APA style subtitles list ?
-
You can use the Report Customizer plugin to edit the fields included in reports https://github.com/retorquere/zotero-report-customizer You could also generate a bibliography with the APA (with abstract) style, which included a bibliography referenc…

Try using colored tags and setting the name of the tag to be an emoji, like 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣
-
It is correct AMJ style to add the first author initials if you are citing multiple different “Xu” authors with different given names See also https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/given_name_disambiguation
-
You can use Zotero with pandoc/RMarkdown (z especially with the BetterBibTeX plugin) and go to various slide formats, but not currently any graphical slide apps
-
Use ‘Type: dataset’ For the revision, use ‘Version: rev. C’ For numbering of reports, etc, all of those can be stored with ‘Number: 1234’
-
The major reason is that colored tags can be added and removed by typing the 1-9 keys on your keyboard (and 0 removes all colored tags)
-
Does Papers provide a way to embed annotations in the PDF files on export (the way Zotero does)? Zotero can import PDF-standard annotations
-
I haven’t looked at it since 2018
-
It hasn’t gone anywhere. What are you experiencing that you think it’s gone? What happens when you try to assign a color to a tag?

A good heuristic is, if there is a publication date, as here, that page is probably not going to change (or if it does, the publication date will be updated), so omit the retrieval date. NHS pages like this certainly fall into the category of not …
-
Or format the citation as Weiner (1978, p. 123) xyz… That is common in APA journals and easier for readers to parse in any event
-
Note that the APA manual would _NOT_ require a retrieval date for this webpage, as it is not expected to change frequently
-
Zotero citations do not have awareness of the document text around them in that way, no. For note styles, Zotero just tells Word “inset a note here” and then adds its citation fields to that note. If you want to edit text associated with a citation …
-
In general, I would suggest starting with a different style than APA. This doesn’t resemble APA that much, and a lot of APA’s complexity is going to make this hard to edit
-
I’ve got that in my private repo I think, so I will add it to the CSL repo
-
DOI will be added to all item types in a future update. For now, you can enter in Extra like this: DOI: 10.1234/567890
-
It is populated manually generally. It is for things like the box and folder number for a document in a museum collection. File location on your computer you can see by selecting an item and expanding its attachments (click the spin toggle next to…
