Has this been changed to Importing to currently selected collection? Or are there plans to do so? It would be most useful. PS: In a Google search I get Here are some ways to import RIS files into Zotero: ... Drag and drop: 1. Drag the RIS file ont…

@adamsmith I don't understand your comment. I have just exercised the solution by @emilianoeheyns, and it does exactly what I need. So now I don't need to enter manually all the information in Zotero for Item #1 (which was not picked correctly). I…

@adamsmith The use case is having "centralized" the info about a conference (@proceedings). This might need editing by hand, but only once. This way, each item might have incomplete/inaccurate information about the Conference (a usual case when ob…

@dstillman @tim820 @adamsmith I was not clear in my original question (now edited). The location of the PDF file that I am linking to in Zotero is a directory of mine. Not a Zotfile directory, nor a Zotero directory. I would like that original file…

Would you know if what I am asking is included?

Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for.

Ok. Will trial-and-error based on HTML. Thanks!

AFAIK, whenever a book chapter is cited, one typically adds the chapter number in the citation.
-
And what about the chapter number? Still not possible?

I have edited the question. BibTeX allows for "linking" a chapter to the containing book, in order to enter the book info only once. I thought Zotero might have a way to do that, and produce the required field upon Export Item... Perhaps in Extra?

1. You are right! "Get table of contents" works on multiple selection. 2. I like the ToC in the right panel since I use a lot Adobe Acrobat as an external PDF viewer. So, with the ToC I can go straight to any bookmark from Zotero. I can live without…

Great. I should add that, now, using Ctrl+Shift+drag does get the table of contents. I can't reproduce what I saw before. What I can reproduce is that adding via [zotero-folder-import] does not get the table of contents. Which, on a file-by-file ba…

You are 100% correct. What Ctrl+Shift+drag is missing is the creation of an hyperlinked table of contents for each attachment, read from the tag structure of the pdf, such that clicking on any of its links opens the pdf at the location of the item.…

You are right! I am now trying the same pages, and I get a different result. I will post again whenever I find the problem. Thanks!

I am copying here the requested info, with also a different error 1. D569706192 An error occurred saving with Silverchair. Attempting to save using DOI instead. An error occurred saving with DOI. Attempting to save using Save as Webpage instead. 2…

@dstillman your answer was most useful. It is quite understandable that this forum might not provide answers related to the PortableApps (PA) version. At the same time, some issues might have a solution which applies irrespective of the version. Per…

I fixed the issue with $ xdg-settings set default-web-browser firefox.desktop Strangely, before issuing that command, $ xdg-settings get default-web-browser firefox.desktop and $ xdg-open "http://google.com" opened Google in firefox. Both ob…

Great. That is the answer!

I installed the regular version, and now directory C:\Users\user1\AppData\Roaming\Zotero is permanent (it does not disappear when I exit Zotero). So I could override cert8.db, and now I solved issues 1 and 2. Still cannot sync... I have to do some m…
