Thanks, bwiernik. I think your correct on all counts.

Don't know what I was thinking, adamsmith. But let's just say, I'm using APA6th but want to use ISO-690-author-date, for this one citation, or just for the single biblography entry. Can it be done? Will the auto-ordering of bibliographic material co…

If I'm required by an instructor to use a specific citation style, e.g. APA 6th, but I need to cite an ISO standard, is it possible to use APA for most of the document but "Report" for the individual ISO citation and or bibliographic entry? mtcstle

Thanks adamsmith

I'll give these a try. they don't conflict with one another do they? What are your thoughts on whether they will work after upgrading to Zotero 5?
-
Congratulations on 5.0, by the way. I'd upgrade today if I weren't in the middle of a term paper. You've given a remarkable gift. Thank you for sharing. Mtcstle

Thanks, LiborA. Cheers, mtcstle

OK, adamsmith. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. I can stop wasting mine, trying to figure it out. Regards, mtcstle

Thanks damnation. I thought it would be something as simple as that but it's been over a year since I last edited a style. mtcstle

You are right, I want the authors listed in the bibliography, not in text. I'll see if I can work out how to mod the APA with the guide. Thanks adamsmith.
-
APA is a good style for most purposes. How can I cause it to list all of the authors rather thsn up to five or some other arbitrary number? Regards, mtcstle

adamsmith, neither of these were very helpful, they both assume you have the default XML editor installed and I don't think I do because I have the version tailored for C/C++. But thanks anyway, you encouraged me to post in Stackoverflow and the Ecl…

Found it. Thanks you adamsmith. Cheers, mtcstle

Well our collaboration is at an end. The paper was completed on time, early really, and I was quite pleased with the results. Now I'd like to retire from the group to clear the clutter from the left side of my workspace. I was able to close the grou…

Hmmm, Help about says I'm at 4.0.28.7 but "Check for updates says there are no updates. I'll hold off upgrading by hand. One, because I'm afraid of upgrades to application infrastructures I don't know a lot about, e.g. csl, and two, so I may remain …

I can't remember the exact sequence of events, I think I opened it in oO, I know I emailed it to another computer. but that computer doesn't have Zotero installed, I swam the mouse over the citations expecting to see some visible indication of the p…

I think I'm getting closer to making this work. When I scan the manuscript with the "scannable cite" notations through the RTF/ODF scanner, isn't the output supposed to contain citation codes that the bibliography engine can interpret? or am I way o…

I'm going to look into it further. Unfortunately, I'm working with others some of whom are not motivated to distract themselves from the task with the fun and challenge of learning a new tool. Help me understand the workflow. Prepare the paper…

We've worked out a scheme in which each collaborator will enter their citations either by hand or by authoring offline and then pasting sections into the community document. When it's finished, someone will go through the document selecting the refe…

Thanks, I'll give it a try, - mtcstle

Adam, I've installed the plug-in and now have Scannable Cite listed under Default Otput Format. I can drag/drop a citation marker but can't work out how to use CTL/ALT/C as discussed on the page you sent. With limited scren real estate, that would a…

Haven't installed it yet. I was trying to understand the installation so to gauge the likelihood of breaking what I have. Your explanatn helps a bit. Thanks adam, - mtcstle

Thanks again. - best regards, John

Excellent Adam. Thank you. Two more questions for now. Now I've copied a collection into a Group Library, can I safely delete from, My Library? How too check my storage used against my allocation? - Thanks and regards, John

You know, I've often thought about dusting old emacs off and starting to use it again. what are the features of "nxlm" and, forgive me for having to ask,how does one load a mode. Regards, mtcstle

Good advice Adam. Thanks And Regards, mtcstle

Just because I couldn't resist, I experimented with the editor.citaionstyles.org visual editor search by example. Sure enough APA 6th and APA 6th single spaced were the top two picks at perfect for citation and 90 % for bibliography. Thanks an awful…

Thanks Adam. I suspected that this was the case. I was an Emacs fan myself, twenty years ago.I spent too much time in production UNIX environments where it was not present, got lazy, and settled into Vi. I miss it sometimes. Cheers, mtcstle

Yes. I suspect as much but I don't know how to search or execute any convenient editing commands in the Zotero visual editor. At present, I load the file into Vi, find the section I'm looking for, then go to the same general area of the file in the …

Thank you both , very much. For the XML suggestion, and for the advice and information. I'll not be changing this specification in my custom style. While I've got you, are there an "Vi-like" or other editing commands in the Zotero style editor. Mos…
