I assume you reinstalled MS Word right after the downgrade? Any specific reason for the downgrade? What kind of procedure did you follow for it? Could you create a new user account on the mac and see if you can insert citations with Zotero there?

That report speaks for itself. Zotero downloads from the Zotero website are certainly virus free, this is a false positive.

Did you move the Zotero.app file from the downloaded disk image to your Applications folder?

Go into Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors and reinstall the word plugin. Does it work well in a new document after that? What about in your existing documents?

Do you see the Zotero tab in Word? If not, you did something wrong when performing the manual installation. If you can see the tab, what happens when you press the plugin buttons? Could you submit a Report ID?

Is this a standard version of LibreOffice? Could you save an empty .odt file in which you cannot insert citations with Zotero and send it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?

@kdybala we are not aware of any other problems that could cause citations to unlink. You can always look at and restore versions of the document from the revision history to try and track down what change exactly lead to their unlinking.
