As dstillman asked in the previous thread that you posted on, please provide the following information: 1) What Word version? 2) Report ID from Zotero 3) Size and date of the Zotero.dotm file in the Word Startup folder 4) The full path to the St…

This is not a general issue and still seems most likely like a browser issue. Can you create a new chrome profile, only install the Zotero Connector into it and try in a new document?
-
@brainbleach Look through Zotero windows and see if you have a preferences window, citation dialog or a popup waiting to be interacted with. Otherwise try citing again after restarting your browser and Zotero
-
Does it work if you restart you computer? If not, could you produce a startup Debug ID from Zotero?
-
@DonnaCoxBaker if Zotero thinks that you have Word and the Word plugin installed then it will automatically install any template updates upon first launch of Zotero after an update. Zotero "might not think" that you have the Zotero Word plugin insta…

We will need more detailed info. See reporting problems.

Could you submit a Report ID from Zotero? When you try to add citations in a new document do you at least get a dialog to select citation styles?
-
Disable any other extensions in chrome and see if it works better in a new document
-
@bergenneuro do you have the Zotero Connector installed in the browser where you are editing the document? Copy-pasting will not work without the Zotero Connector. If you do, when you copy and paste some text with Zotero citations do you see a Zoter…

The message you are getting is indicative of potentially big corruption. You should make sure in the Zotero document preferences that the citations are stored as ReferenceMarks, which might fix most of the big issues. Afterwards if you still want to…

This is not a general problem with Zotero. Go into Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors and reinstall the Word plugin, then try again. If it does not work submit a Report ID.
-
@dbjjzhang are citations inserted as endnotes? You can check this under the Zotero Document Properties. If you change that to footnotes first and then try to change the style does it work?
-
@nriley could you try updating to the latest version of the Zotero Beta and seeing if the Safari Connector works for you?
-
You will need to ensure you have a JDK installed and selected in LibreOffice, then try reinstalling the extension from Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors
-
Also make sure that your field code display is disabled.
-
@nriley have you tried restarting your mac?
-
Do you have any security software running? Which one? Does it help if you temporarily disable it?
-
Could you produce a startup Debug ID from Zotero?
-
Have you tried restarting your computer? What version of Word are you using?
-
Try copying and pasting the document text into a new document. If that doesn't help you'll have to fully remove and reinsert the broken citations. When removing them highlight the citation text along with an extra character on either side of them wh…

@pamrooks this isn't the ordinary performance we see from Windows Word, but it seems like the communication between Word and Zotero is slow for whatever reason. How is the speed of this computer otherwise? Are your web browser and Word itself relati…

You're most likely running into https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/314273/#Comment_314273 I.e. your style uses "next style", which is broken in LibreOffice. We cannot do anything about it, but you can chip in on the bug report on LO bugtr…

I think you'll have to seek out help from the LO community. This isn't strictly a Zotero problem and we have not had any users run into something similar, so we cannot point you to anything beyond what we already have in terms of troubleshooting.
-
You can walk around this by saving the transfer document as .docx, opening it in LibreOffice and resaving as .odt before reimporting citations. This might not work as well in terms of maintaining formatting. Another thing you can do is to convert t…
-
This never worked and never will, since Zotero figures out what metadata it can retrieve based on the URL of the resource you save. If you need to add PDFs directly into Zotero either use the Zotero button on their page online or drag the downloaded…
-
Look through Zotero windows and see if the citation dialog isn't simply hiding behind some other window. Otherwise the first thing to try is to restart Zotero and your word processor.
-
Unfortunately, I don't think we have a solution for you. We get a report with this error message once a year or so and I don't think any of our users have been able to fix that. You could try reinstalling Word but if that does not help, then the onl…

If "Zotero had to be moved to the new account" then wherever you had it installed was not the correct location, which likely could have been part of the problem. You should make sure when you open Finder and select Applications in the left sidebar t…

What distro is this? We haven't seen this error message before and it's likely that you cannot install any plugins into LO, not just the Zotero one, so you should probably try getting help from the LO community.

And both of them are installed in the default applications folder, no subfolders? Could you create a new user account on your Mac and test to see if it works there?
