Zotero freezes when I try to add a citation: 1065905674

I use the Zotero plug-in for Word to generate bibliographies.
When I click on Add/Edit Citation, the citation search window does not pop up and the Zotero program has frozen. I have to close Zotero via the Task Manager in order to continue.
How do I correct this?

    Is it fixed if you restart your computer? Does it work in a new document?

    I came across a suggestion online that there was a problem with the Windows language region setting. I changed the language region from "English (South Africa)" to "English (United Kingdom)" and the problem seems to have resolved completely. This may well be the problem.

    To make the change I clicked through the following:

    In the Windows Control panel>> Clock, language and Region >> Region
