PDFs can be attached to various kinds of items. You need to create a parent item for it. Either use the create new item button, and then drag the PDF into the new item, or try the "Retrieve Metadata" command on the PDF which automatically creates th…

I believe the citations will only stay linked to Zotero if you combine your documents by pasting them together. Something sort of like this is covered in the last paragraph here: http://www.zotero.org/support/use_cases#theses_and_dissertations

Nope. That fixed it. I probably would have tried that earlier, but I mistakenly thought this was related to the problem on the other browsers (which I now see do not display 3 boxes). Thanks.

JavaScript is enabled, and I just tried restarting Firefox in safe mode but I still get the same thing. Below are three errors that were most recent in the console. Error: jQuery is not defined Source File: http://www.zotero.org/search/?q=zotero Li…

Okay, now this is broken in Firefox too. Is this just happening to me? In addition, that page I am being taken to (the one I got in Chrome yesterday) doesn't even work (none of the three search boxes bring up results).

There are many threads on Lexis Nexus problems where you might be able to find something useful. If the forum search box is broken for you as it currently is for me, use the search link in the quick links on the left.

I have no idea how it works, but the LyZ addon for integration between Zotero and LyX maintains a bibtex database. You might try to see how they do it. http://www.klubko.net/?page_id=945&lang=en

A similar problem seems to exist for browsers other than Firefox (Specifically Chrome, Safari, and mobile Safari). If I use the search box from Firefox, I am taken to this URL: http://www.zotero.org/search/#forums/searchterm However, on Chrome for e…

Edit: Better yet, just read adamsmith's post below :) I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for (no brackets around the citation or just change the commas?). Anyway, you could look for a style that already does what you want. Zotero Style Repos…

This wouldn't solve or uncover the root of your issue, but if you are certain your data is okay on one side or the other, you could do a reset sync either to or from the server to avoid conflict resolution. Of course your problem could pop back up s…

Can you provide a link? I just tried MD Consult, and had no problem saving a journal article to Zotero. The site does not have its own translator, but the DOI translator shows up for me. This is the article I added: MD Consult - New Opportunities in…

This has been suggested before. Here is a recent thread: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/12176/plaintext-scanning/

(especially would love to be able to easily send some items to Evernote) If you use the Evernote webclipper addon, this is very easy. Open an attachment, and (as long as you have attachments set to open in FF) use the webclipper to send them to ever…

According to the last line of Dan Stillman's post here, Zotero Forums - Locked out of Google Scholar, that may not be possible.

I get a lot of PMIDs in my "Extra" field. I think at least a couple of different translators do that. If you are willing to use the extra field, you could easily edit Vancouver to do that. You would have to check all your items though. I sometimes g…

However, when I go to zotero.org, log in and try to see my library, it informs me that there are no items in my library. However, I know there are as I can view them by going to zotero.org/ followed by my user name. Going to your library on the webs…

That comment, from this thread, http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/2921/ , looks like it is just a suggestion from a user for how integration between Zotero and Diigo should work. Nothing of that sort is possible as far as I know.

I believe I was looking at the wrong group. Sorry for the confusion. You should read the link posted above by Dan Stillman since it seems like it is a sync issue. And if you can't figure out what's wrong, start a new discussion since your problem is…

You could generate the bibliography piecemeal using the paste feature. You would just need to copy the references in groups by the number of digits in their page numbers. IOW, for a collection of items with page numbers ranging from double to triple…

Yes, there is a problem with this. You need leading zeros. Otherwise a simple sort of 1 through 12, comes out like this: 1 10 11 12 2 3 ... 9 However, if you enter "01" for instance into the pages field in Zotero, it will be converted to simply "1"…

What does the error say? Have you checked these pages? http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/changes_not_syncing http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/files_not_syncing

Read the first link, and use the second as a reference. csl_simple_edits [Zotero Documentation] dev:csl_syntax_summary [Zotero Documentation] You will just need to remove the part that adds the DOI to each item in the bibliography section of the sty…

I tried adding the article here http://alcalc.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/45/2/136 (I removed my proxy from the URL), and it added with the PDF. Are you logged in to the site(only subscribers get PDF access)? If you are using a proxy, yo…

Check your Zotero preferences. There is a setting to automatically download associated PDFs when saving citations. If that is checked already, and you are not getting PDFs from a website you previously were able to get them from, you should post a l…

Both work for me, but through a proxy, so maybe it is only a problem for "guests" or other types of login. You might want to post a report ID for your failed save attempt. troubleshooting_translator_issues [Zotero Documentation]

1024 X 600 actually, so not quite the lowest common denominator, but close. Obviously you're not a netbook guy. You may think small screens are "obsolete" (a silly word to use in this circumstance if you ask me), but I guarantee there are a number o…

It's actually much more difficult than it should be. Go to Tools->Options->Advanced->Network->Offline Storage->Clear Now. There are addons you could look into that will put a button on your toolbar or otherwise make this (and clearin…

Looks like that translator could use some work, but FYI, if you go to the abstract page (rather than full text), Zotero can save it. http://www.jbc.org/content/244/16/4406.abstract

It looks like those are the only available variables. Zotero automatically renames attached files saved from translators. This string controls how those names are formatted. %c is creator, %y is year, %t is the title, the curly braces around each pa…

This question pops up frequently, so you are not the first to miss it. Maybe it should be in the FAQ?
