The LexisNexis Academic translator is meant to work only with newspapers, although it gives an icon for law cases as well. For newspapers, there is one missing character in the translator code that throws a syntax error and results in the failure that you see. A patch is available, if you're up for digging into the translator directory, finding the translator, and applying the fix by hand:

Otherwise, feel free to post to the zotero-dev thread above with a request that the patch be applied and pushed to clients.
  • Thanks, Frankā€”I've pushed the fix.

abdul-lateef: Your copy of Zotero should auto-update within 24 hours, or you can update manually by clicking Update Now in the General pane of the Zotero prefs.
  • Is this issue still unresolved? LexisNexis Academic is not offering any citations to import. Is the above-mentioned patch still viable? Is there a walkthrough anywhere for how to apply it?
    Thanks.
