No, collapsing and expanding does nothing. I did think it was a temporary thing but now not so sure. I tried with a new Zotero profile and on Windows 10 with the same result.

Just to bump this one.... I had to install Office 2016 on a Windows 7 machine from scratch and when I clicked on "Install Microsoft Word Add-in" nothing happened, but the add-in did install and work. I still get the message in Preferences that the a…

A little more investigation shows that it is not cookies "Keep until: I close Firefox" but "Clear history when Firefox closes" and choosing within that to delete cookies. This allows me to change "Disable proxy redirection when my domain name contai…

Yes that seems to be the problem (I did search but...). I'm on Firefox 51.0.1 Windows and have it set up to "Accept 3rd party cookies: always" and "Keep until: I close Firefox" but I do not have "Always use private browsing mode" set. I'm reluctant …

From what you said my understanding now is: On install/upgrade to Zotero 5 (beta), if the Zotero data directory is in a profile directory (either Zotero standalone or Firefox add-on), then it is moved to the default location C:\users\[username]\Zote…

After upgrading to the latest build (5.0-beta.152+1633a73) I got the message "Data directory migration in progress". This moved my data directory (set using extensions.zotero.dataDir=[EternalDrive]) to C:\users\[username]\Zotero. When I re-launch Zo…

I thought this was solved disabling Zotfile but it was not (new Debug ID D2128375280). The other difference between reproducing this is that when I thought it was solved yesterday, I was on a Windows 7 machine, whereas not working is a Windows 10 ma…

Right-click on Trash worked (I did not know you could do that -- it's amazing what you learn).

Renaming works with Zotfile disabled (Doh!). Thanks for your help, I never thought to disable Zotfile -- I will send on a bug report. Now I just have orphan items in Trash. Any idea on removing them?

A related issue is that a file that could not be found, when I delete it from the record (right-click "Move Item to Trash..."), the record and file go into the Trash but can not be deleted from the Trash (both coloured grey). Usually, if deleting a …

I have experienced something similar after an upgrade from 4.0.29.16 to 5.0-beta.141+058a4b1. If I click on any of my saved searches that reference a Collection, I get the message "An error has occurred. Please restart Zotero" (Report ID 1565324900)…

Joscha I am using Zotfile 2.3.3 with Zotero 4.0.2 on XP, Firefox 20. When I try to extract annotations from a PDF nothing happens (just the message "Extract PDF annotations..."). I looked at the Firefox error console and Zotfile is throwing the fol…

True, though I rarely see abbreviations with full stops any more ("The US government"?). The more I think about this, the more I prefer the current implementation. (The again, the APA style is a *guide* rather than a law... and even in journals th…

Also after a full-stop.

Thanks Dan.

I use Zotero on an external drive in Windows (XP and 7) so that I can access my library wherever I go. To get around the relative paths problem I make sure that my external drive is assigned the same drive letter no matter which computer I am on. In…

This happened to me on a Windows XP machine at home and work. It was a permissions issue because the portable drive is formatted as NTFS (you should not get these problems with FAT32 drives). You will need to give your work account permissions to th…

You may need to empty your Trash folder.

I have the same problem but some notes show up in the report fine, while other show up with the HTML tags. My notes are for Chapters in a book. They all begin with the chapter number and title in H2. Adding a paragraph at the bottom doesn't work.…

It must be just me then. I seem to use things that no-one else does (example ) ;-). I prefer the Zotero panes at the top rather than the bottom. mc

extensions.zotero.zoteroPaneOnTop = true no-longer seems to be place the zotero pane to the top of Firefox. Zotero 2.0b6.44911, Firefox 3.5.2, Windows XPP mc

Dan, I have updated to the latest trunk (2.0b4.r4598), made the change in about:config and behaviour has reverted to double-click expand/collapse. Many thanks for you help and support. mc Edit: PS - I never use the View button, which is why I was c…

Dan, well there you go. I always though expand/collapse was the default behaviour for a double-click. And I do find it easier to double-click on a line than single-click on the '+' symbol. Otherwise, I have items with different combinations of sing…

Success! r3947 worked. Many thanks for your help, quick support and a lightning solution.

I check the database integrity and it stated there were no errors. Re-ran the update (this time r3941) and got the same error (see report id 969998969). I then tried doing a repair on the database (even though there were no errors, but just in case)…

As a work around, you could try the "Universal reference formatter" (http://toolserver.org/~verisimilus/Scholar/Cite.php) though I'm not sure how well it works.

I think you may find that automatically downloading an entire journal would infringe copyright in several countries.
