Mozilla eliminated the capacity of Firefox to incorporate the very sophisticated sort of plug-in that is Zotero. While some simple tools are still "leveraging the ... tools bar" the older Firefox system allowed more than the current Firefox system…

@shel Please know that although Google scholar has in the past year greatly improved the metadata directly available from the site; it is always inferior to metadata available from the publisher. Best practice includes following the link to the publ…

Some publisher feeds are incorrectly formatted and distributed in a way that causes this problem. I stopped using ScienceDirect feeds because of this. I notified Elsevier of this and received a reply from them. They said that repeated item distribut…

I have reported this to Wiley A&I but I haven't had a specific reply. The metadata Wiley makes available on their ftp site also has the online date and has had for a few weeks. The RIS date of publication is correct if questionably tagged.

Allow me to interject that this is an Apple policy change that affects many programs that interact with Safari. This is not limited to Zotero. Further, Apple has policies that make the placement of Zotero connectors, extensions, etc. on their Store …

In your first example, Informs provides the wrong date in the embedded metadata (dc.date) Zotero uses for its import. Zotero has been able to overcome this limitation with other publishers; so maybe this will be possible. Inform's RIS metadata provi…

No I don't know. I recall that at one time I asked about including the URLs to theses and reports and learned that GS found that objectionable because universities and agencies too often break the links by changing their site structure. DOIs, howeve…

To answer your specific question -- no. GS indexes items that fit some criteria for permanency. Only Google seems to know the speifics of what they use to aid their choice of what to index. I am contacted by GS 2 or 3 times a year with various requ…

Q2 noksagt is correct that GS/Highwire is for single-item pages. That is why the SafetyLit multiple item pages don't have that in the header. Q1 The unAPI - MODS function with SafetyLit is what allows Zotero multiple item downloads from pages that …

@bjohas I looked at your other posts to this forum and I see that you have the background knowledge needed to handle website programming but do you have the skills and available time? Anyone who has contemporary web development skills should be abl…

Did this occur after you downloaded multiple items from GS? If so Google will limit how many items you can download in a Google-established period of time. You will again be able to download items but only when Google determines "enough" time has el…

@fbennett Is there any hope to resolve @atsourou 's problem by using juris-m? I'm bumping this in case my long comment hijacked this thread.

@dstillman Did you note that the OP is attempting to transfer audio files? About a year ago one of my students did a drag/drop of wav and mp3 files into Zotero 5 beta and damaged his database. I thought that I reported this here but I cannot find th…

@atsourou While I have no idea about a Zotero implementation, thank you for raising this question. Many times I've encountered what you describe -- a difference between an in-text name and the name in a reference list. At first, this seemed like err…

I recommend that you search this forum with the word "papership". There are several recent threads that report PaperShip's failure to function at any task. I have had an identical experience for the past several months. Recent reviews on the Apple A…

There are at least 2 problems with any automatic merge system for duplicate control. 1) Zotero's duplicate detection is quite (some say overly) sensitive -- it can label similar items as false duplicates. 2) Even true duplicates may not be exact dup…

Could Zotero export in a tab seperated value format? This could keep existing commas as punctuation or as a secondary separation for individual tags/keywords.

Did you modify an existing style and save it without changing style title and id? If so your modified style is being overwritten. See: https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/style_editing_step-by-step If you did change the name and id,…

@fbennett wrote: @adamsmith is too hard on himself Maybe, but his post certainly speaks to his integrity as does your post reflect yours. All of us Zotero users owe you both our gratitude. Thank you.

Sombody did something to remove your Zotero field codes. If you have a recent incremental backup of your document (that contains the field codes), I recommend using the backup, Copying your new text to the backup and re-adding the references that ar…

When this was split to this new thread my post (below) was omitted. My post is relevant here but not to the other thread. My post: FYI for the past 2 or 3 days we have a similar but intermittent issue with ScienceDirect. Actually, it seems to be tw…

I seem to remember that using the 2-character "he" form instead ofthe 3-character format fixed this. A true expert may reply by stating that I'm wrong. I recommend changing one of your Zotero library records as a test. I'm almost sure that this 2-ch…

I have PaperShip 3.8.3 and on my iPad (11.3.1) some functions work. Some do not and haven't since iOS 10. Downloading pdf files from my Zotero library via PaperShip to my iPad now seems broken. PaperShip doesn't "crash" but but the download never co…

Also, isn't the desktop synced to iCloud? If so, that and the documents directory are a poor choice for Zotero _data_ files.

@jcmeunier Most of that conversation wasn't directed to you but was among very active volunteer-developers who were discussing how to best resolve your problem. They were acknowledging that, right now, any fix is not straightforward to less-experien…

... falling out of favor. Isn't that still rather common in legal journals? I'll admit that I mostly only see the start page listed without any "f". FWIW, my personal preference is to always that the _range_ listed.

Multiple downloads aren't working from the TOC pages but I'm really happy about the fix to allow individual items to download properly. Thanks.
