You're going to have to take my word on this — I wrote most of the code in question. There've been no changes in Zotero relevant to this in years.

If you're using one of the word processor plugins, you need to insert both citations and a bibliography. Nothing to do with right-clicking.

You should start by making sure you do not have Mendeley or other Word plugins installed. If it's not fixed then, please provide the full steps you take that are causing the crash.
