  1. Help! I opened Firefox and the Zotero icon is no longer appearing and I cannot access libraries!

    by Rintze · November 14, 2017
In short, today Firefox 57 was released which breaks compatibility with Zotero for Firefox 4.0.x. To be able to continue to use Zotero, install the Zotero Connector for Firefox and Zotero 5.0 from ht…
  2. 5.0 upgrade prompt for 4.0 users

    by Rintze · November 14, 2017
So what happens if people upgrade to Firefox 57 and try using the upgraded connector (which I assume replaces Zotero for Firefox 4.x)? Does it just save to the server (as long as syncing is set up), …
  3. Change default keyboard shortcuts (on Firefox)

    by dstillman · November 14, 2017
Chrome provides a UI for configuring extension-defined shortcuts, but I don't believe that exists yet in Firefox. Not sure if that's planned or if it's possible to do so via about:config. (Before Fir…
  4. Change default keyboard shortcuts (on Firefox)

    by antoinentl · November 14, 2017
Actually the keyboard shortcut CTRL+MAJ+S on Firefox activate the developer tools (console, inspector, etc.), very useful. But if the Zotero addon (for Firefox) is active (since the wonderful Firefox…
  5. Zotero forums update

    Rintze

I just noticed something weird with the forum search. It appears that any search that contains a one or two-digit number by itself doesn't produce any results:
  6. 5.0 upgrade prompt for 4.0 users

    Rintze
    by Rintze · November 13, 2017
@dstillman, has a day already been selected when Zotero 5.0 will be offered as an upgrade to existing 4.0 users? Is it tomorrow when Firefox 57 is released?
  7. Syncing Error & Citation Format Issues With Word Extension

    by dstillman · November 10, 2017
Those shouldn't matter but you should uninstall them from Firefox. (They'll be automatically disabled in Firefox 57 anyway.)
  8. "Profile Missing" after Firefox update

    by dstillman · October 30, 2017
After updating Firefox this eve I discovered that the Zotero add-on had become a "legacy" item. At this point I had no access to my 2k odd references, and a paper due... not an inspiring moment.

  10. Zotero for Firefox 57

    by bwiernik · October 18, 2017
Because of the changes to Firefox's extension frameworks, the full Zotero for Firefox add-in is discontinued. Zotero 5 now exists solely as a standalone desktop app. There is a new Zotero Connector a…

    Dear Zotero Community,
  12. What's happening for Firefox 57

    by dstillman · October 18, 2017
(We haven't pushed Zotero 5 or the Zotero Connector for Firefox to Zotero 4 users yet, but we will before Firefox 57 is out.)
  13. What's happening for Firefox 57

    by AussieExpat · October 17, 2017
Firefox has recently announced "legacy" add-ons -- and it automatically labels Zotero as a legacy add-on -- will no longer be supported by the upcoming Firefox 57 -- due for mid-November. So what's h…
  14. Firefox compatibility for Zotero 4.0

    by adamsmith · October 2, 2017
Zotero 4 for Firefox should just work in Firefox 56. If it disappears, that's either because people are using a non-default setting to disable legacy add-ons or because they've performed a Firefox re…
  15. Zotero Connector on Firefox Beta 57

    by dstillman · October 2, 2017
Oh, were you saying that you had Zotero for Firefox installed, and then upgraded to Firefox 57, which moved it to Legacy Extensions and disabled it? In that case, yes, you just need to install the Zo…
  16. Zotero Connector on Firefox Beta 57

    by dstillman · October 2, 2017
The Zotero Connector works fine on Firefox 57 — part of the benefit of Mozilla's new extension architecture is that WebExtensions are much less likely to be affected by Firefox version changes. If yo…

  18. Last Zotero Firefox extension/addon release works great with Firefox ESR 52.3

    by dstillman · September 14, 2017
I think it supprised many "Zotero Extension" (Firefox Addon) users, that Zotero decided to "upgrade" the Extension to the "Zotero Connector".
  19. When is upgrade required?

    by adamsmith · September 14, 2017
It's not currently urgent to update. You will still be able to use zotero 4 with firefox 56 (due out at the end of the month), though not with Firefox 57 (mid November).
