(Indexing was overhauled in Zotero 10, and that pane was redesigned to be much clearer and avoid fiddly options that people shouldn't need to worry about.)

That's just a rendering bug after using the search feature in the settings. We'll fix, but if you just open the settings again it should show proper numbers.

Locally, Zotero 10 makes database upgrades that can't be reversed, so you can't downgrade without a DB backup or a fresh pull from the server. Across devices (same user or different users), no problems.

The crash is actually related to the database. Is your Zotero data directory on a network drive or external disk? If the former, what protocol (e.g., NFS)?
