That's an empty (5 MB) zotero.sqlite database. You either didn't copy that file or you had Zotero open on one side or the other and the file was locked. The much larger zotero.sqlite.bak file has data in it. Copy the correct original file or swap th…

Images of the file manager aren't useful. We'd have to see ls -la ~/.local/share/applications output in both cases to tell you what actually happened. But a symlink is a symlink. I'd guess that you just symlinked the wrong file (e.g., the 'zotero' s…

You tried too many times with the wrong password and were temporarily blocked. If you're still having trouble, wait a while and try again or reset your password. https://www.zotero.org/user/lostpassword

Please don't create multiple threads for the same issue: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/127899/zotero-changing-font-size-and-layout-when-inserting-citation You can post a follow-up in your original thread if you're still waiting for a respon…

We always need an example URL for problems with saving. If you're having trouble saving across many sites, see Troubleshooting Problems Saving to Zotero.

You copied the wrong files or copied them to the wrong place. If you provide some screenshots of your data directory, we might be able to tell you more.

If things are missing (and the library isn't just collapsed), a group member either moved them to the trash or deleted them completely. If you don't see what you're looking for in the trash, and this just happened, you or another group member may b…

As of November 22nd, 2025, the terminal command for 'symlink' seems broken and won't allow you to correctly set Zotero as part of the app launcher. I'm not sure why you think this? The `ln` command is entirely standard and works the same on all Linu…

We'd need to see a Debug ID to say more, but that looks like a problem with your network connection. You appear to have a proxy server configured, but Zotero can't connect to it. https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/connection_error

Better to post development questions to zotero-dev. We try to keep technical discussions there. (But no, there are no official SDKs.)
-
What do you mean by that? Can you say more and provide a screenshot of what you're referring to?

Zotero generates bibliographies in the language selected when choosing the citation style. It just defaults to the system/interface language if you haven't chosen another language.
-
No, if it's working for you now after running that, this won't happen again.
-
This is likely due to security software on your computer preventing Zotero from checking your Firefox profile for an old (pre-2017) Zotero installation. This wouldn't be a problem if it was blocking access to profiles.ini, but it seems to be allowin…

See Zotero Toolbar Doesn't Appear and the platform-specific steps linked from there, and if you're still having trouble, let us know exactly what you tried, in your own words, and what happened at each step.

@Trolle_G: It looks like you already resolved this (by using Reset File Sync History, presumably)? You have no files to relink.

Great, thanks. This should now be fixed in Zotero 7.0.30, if you'd like to switch back to the release version.

OK, update to Zotero 7.0.30, which should fix this. If it's still happening, we'd want to see another Debug ID for the same thing.
-
If this is 7.0.16, that's a special fix that had to be pushed out to Windows users to fix the regular updater. Install a current version and this will go away.

You have to post it here for us to look at it.

But it does obligate you to be very clear in every thread you open that you're running Firefox Nightly. Otherwise you're risking wasting people's time debugging an issue that's just some random Nightly fluke. Your not mentioning it suggested you wer…

For problems with a plugin, you'll need to contact the plugin developer.

Can you send a PDF this happens with to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?

Restart in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins. If that fixes it, you'll need to identify the plugin that's causing it and then report the problem to the plugin's developer. If n…
