This I understand. The strange thing is that configuration option extensions.zotero.export.bibliographyLocale works for everything except ordinal suffixes. So that seems to be a bug, that is probably easy to fix.

I can advice one more workaround: remove citation number from the bibliography section of the citation style and use numbering in word instead. Then numbering will be completely independent of Zotero and hence will work fine, regardless of bibliogra…

I have the same problem in Word 2003 on Windows. And changing the "Normal" font is not a nice option when preparing a manuscript, since many other styles (defined by publisher) depend on it.

I can approve the last part of what scottpowell mentioned: If the parent item has no URL (e.g. it was created manually), then double-click has no effect at all. I expect that attached PDF should open as well in this case.

For me it works fine now. Both for old and new items. In particular, I have created a new item from a webpage and added PDF from the hard drive to it. Double clicking on the item opens PDF.
