It's ok. As the documentation says, it's wise to copy the entire folder to another destination, and that is what I will do. I was hoping that updating by copying certain files within the folder would suffice.

I understand about synch, as you said. If I follow the procedure, will the standalone data, which is less than the firefox data, replace what is in firefox? Thanks

I meant the last one you mentioned. There also could be a preference setting so when clicking a listing it defaults to view online rather than the snapshot. Just curious. It works all the same.

This may be a dumb question, but when I am in Chrome and want to save a web page or article in the browser to Zotero, how do I do it? I have used the Firefox version and it is much easier when the Zotero screen pops right into the browser.

Thanks!! You are always on top of it. I installed the standalone version, but could not see how I can save a source from the browser. The standalone did not have a create new item from current page feature and I felt lost. Is there a tutorial?

Yes, I found it after I posted this. Helps a lot. Perhaps you can say what happens when duplicate entries are merged, in terms of which info is selected and which is not.

what does this mean: Use of Zotero 2.1 with your Word and OpenOffice documents will irrevocably upgrade them, and you will no longer be able to use them with earlier versions of Zotero.

i have installed the add on in FF and cannot get the plugin to work

when i click on the buttons, such as incert citation or bibilography, nothing happens. this is so even with old documents where I used Zotero. I followed the troubleshooting to make sure everything was updated, at least I think so.
