Make sure you log out of your usual user (or at least close Zotero there), before testing in a new temporary user.

Can you reproduce this in a new document?

Are you using any custom window styling with Windows OS, like high contrast, etc? If you disable those, does the issue persist? If you create a new temporary Windows user account can you reproduce the problem there?
-
Are you seeing this across multiple machines? Are you using any custom window styling in Windows OS, or some other user preferences that change the look of windows? If you create a new temporary Windows user account do you see this issue?

If you right click the Quick Format Citation view from the start menu (the popup that you have been taking screenshots of), and select Move, then use arrow keys, and or mouse to move it, can you get the dialog to move into the view?

Just to let you know, we are aware of this issue, and will let you know when a fix is available. A number of workarounds are posted here, but the simplest one is to insert the bibliography at the end of the document and move it to the location where…

Note that you are running Windows 8 which is no longer officially supported by Microsoft for quite a while, so this may be partially at fault and we may be unable to help you. If you put your mouse over the Zotero item in the Windows menu bar, the…

@reddylcs This is indicative of Macros being unable to run for the Zotero plugin. See https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#zotero_tab_does_not_appear_in_the_word_ribbon

Restart Zotero and try again. When you initiate a Zotero command in Google Docs, make sure you look through all open browser and Zotero windows -- you need to authenticate Zotero with Google Docs in your browser, and then find the citation dialog am…

See https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_manual_installation This is due to the version naming change of LibreOffice -- they went from LibreOffice 7 to LibreOffice 24. We will soon release an update to Zotero which will fix it. Sorr…

(1) I am finalizing my Ph.D. and have about 10 separate Google docs, each with in-text citations hyperlinked to my Zotero database. What is the best way to merge the documents without losing the hyperlinks into one final document and then create the…

Zotero uses the current paragraph/character style when inserting citations. If you want to maintain font coloring, you should create a character style in Word, and use it for colored text. That way Zotero inserted citations will also have that color.

This message generally means what it says. If you keep seeing it even when your colleague is not working on the document, you can override this message in the "Need help?" section of this message.

Zotero is based on Firefox. Both Firefox and Zotero attempt to use xdg-open on Linux, but it seems that they are unable to, or something goes wrong when they try to. This isn't a general issue on Linux (working fine here on Ubuntu), so you will have…

Yes, you cannot leave the proxy URL scheme blank. Zotero proxy support cannot work without the proxy URL scheme. Although I'm not sure if OpenAthens even has an URL scheme, and in that case you don't need to setup Zotero proxy entries at all. When y…

You have to enter a valid Login URL and Proxied URL scheme for it to be saved. If you leave one of those two fields unchanged the proxy will not be saved.

Does opening a downloaded file folder work for you in Firefox?

Once again, please post a screenshot of the Google Docs link insertion popup (which is opened by pressing Cmd-K or the Insert Link button in the Google Docs editor).

Generally this means that the Zotero plugin in Word is unable to run its macros. This is most likely due to user configuration. First make sure you are running the latest version of macOS and Word. Then see that under Word Preferences -> Security…

Do you see this in a new document? What version of Java do you have installed? Have you tried updating that?

If you run into a situation where nothing happens when attempting to cite with Zotero it means you have are already citing with Zotero somewhere else (like in a different browser). Restarting Zotero fixes that. Can you try in a different browser aft…

You should switch the citations to be stored as footnotes first, then switch to an in-text style.

It seems that Google servers are experiencing some issues. This will likely resolve on its own, but we are monitoring the situation.

Would you open that same link insertion dialog, take a screenshot and post it here? Your citation dialog has an unusual look based on what you sent us. Do you have any other Google Docs browser extensions installed? Does Zotero work if you remove th…

@lgnadolskis Zotero 7 will include an updated version of the citation dialog that will work much better with screen readers.
