Are you referring to citations already pasted into the document by others? If somebody cuts and pastes some part of the text which contains Zotero citations, either in the text or footnotes, that text will appear under tracked changes (both the cut …

@uefmatty give our most generous thanks to everyone involved in fixing and releasing this.

You said in the previous comment that it did the same thing with APA. Does it only do it with Chicago note style? If so, are you citing in endnotes? Does it do it with footnotes?
-
Can you save pdf attachments from other pages? Zotero downloads the PDF, but then is unable to find it on your disk drive. This might happen due to permission errors, or a security software removing the file as false-positive malware.

Can you submit a Debug ID from the Zotero client for a PDF save that fails?

Collaborative writing should generally work fine, but it is largely up to Microsoft tools to not break Zotero citations in documents, and Word Online support for fields is less robust than the Desktop application. Any citations that may end up in tr…

If you are logged in with multiple Google accounts, Zotero will prompt you to choose which account you want to use on browser restart. Although if you had selected the wrong account, you should have got an error message, and not "freezing". Either w…

Restart both Chrome and Zotero. After initiating a Zotero command from Google Docs, make sure you look through open Zotero windows and see if a citation dialog had opened, but didn't appear on top of other windows. If it still occurs, explain in det…

Zotero uses the sorting and date information provided by the feed, so you will have to contact the journal and tell them their RSS feed is ordered wrong.

Can you temporarily create a new macOS account and see whether it happens there?
-
In that case there is little we can say on what happened. We have never had any user report anything like this, so it's extremely unlikely to be a Zotero bug, although technically feasible. It's highly unlikely to happen again, but if it does and yo…

If you open Document Preferences from the Zotero tab in Word are you storing citations as Bookmarks? If you are, that may have contributed to the issue. Bookmarks are prone to become corrupted and you should use Fields unless you absolutely need to …

It's hard to say what happened, but generally this wouldn't be Zotero's fault. Zotero itself does not remove citations from documents at all. The worst that Zotero could do is unlink citations, but only if the user pressed the Unlink Citations butto…

Do they appear in the text of the document and are only missing in the bibliography? If so, most likely at some point citations got unlinked.
-
Could you submit a Report ID from Zotero?
-
If you've changed the citation to black by removing formatting, Zotero won't be able to make them red again. You will have to manually recheck the citations.
-
What word processor are you using? Can you explain in detail what you're doing in the document? Please submit a Report ID from Zotero.

Could you produce a Debug ID from Zotero for the error you see?

My original comment still applies. LibreOffice has thousands of extensions and expecting them all to issue updates for an optional cosmetic change is simply not reasonable, and also will almost certainly not be required once enough extension users r…

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I've updated the appropriate ticket regarding the new development. It seems like we'll be able to support fieldmarks in LibreOffice, which we are very much interested in. It will take some time before we ad…

This isn't supported and currently we don't have plans to support it.

It might be that your Word installation location is the problem. Usually Word is installed at /Volumes/Macintosh HD/Applications/Microsoft Word.app:/ but yours is at /Volumes/Macintosh HD 1/Applications/Microsoft Word.app:/ Can you move the Microsof…

The first invocation in a long document is always going to take a little longer. Your debug ID shows that the first insertion took 120s (2 minutes), but a subsequent insertion only took 6 seconds. This is not outside normal range for a large documen…

See Existing Citations Not Detected. Most likely the citations that do not get converted have been unlinked. You can check by putting a cursor in one of them and pressing Add/Edit Citation button in the Zotero tab. If they are indeed linked, there m…

Submit a Report ID. Try disabling extensions you have installed in Zotero.

You will have to be more specific about what doesn't work for you. See Reporting Problems

You have to select a folder where your JVM is installed, so it would exactly be /usr/lib/jvm/java-17-openjdk-amd64 You just need to click OK in the dialog. If you've installed a distro-packaged version of LibreOffice it might help to install it fr…

Exception: The document is inaccessible. Please try again later It's likely that Google is limiting your access to the document due to too much activity. It should work after waiting for a while. If it does not, see if it works in a new document.

See https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#installation_error Make sure you have a JRE selected in LibreOffice and try installing the plugin manually.

See https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/safari_compatibility#can_t_see_the_save_button_save_button_flickering We recommend upgrading to macOS Big Sur if possible to use the Zotero connector with Safari.
