See https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/existing_citations_not_detected If you're using a footnote based Turabian then the order would remain correct even if your citations got unlinked, since the numbering is controlled by Word, not Zotero.

If you open Zotero.dotm manually does the Zotero tab show up (this is just a troubleshooting step, you cannot and shouldn't work with Zotero by opening that file)? Did you check what your Word startup folder is set to? What is it? Did you place the …

I don't think there's any way you can customize the preference in Chrome with a script. As for the preference reverting, this would be user account/chrome account specific. The Connector stores its preferences in the local extension preference stora…

I'm sorry, but you'll have to figure out why templates in Word Startup folder have macros disabled. This isn't a Zotero problem, but a Word configuration one. Reinstalling things won't help, since these are configuration options that are stored even…

The javascript error in the connector page is irrelevant. If you click on the Zotero connector button in your browser a save should begin. Are you right-clicking the icon and the menu options? If you do nothing will happen. You need to use the left-…

Did you go into Word Trust Centre? Is the Word Startup folder listed under trusted locations?

See https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#zotero_tab_does_not_appear_in_the_word_ribbon More generally if this is an institutional computer some group policy may be blocking Zotero. If it's a personal computer then yo…

The prompt allows you to override the lock as well as specify that it can become locked by accident. Do you still get the problem if you override the lock? If not you should not worry about it.

Zotero only ever sets 2 styles for LibreOffice - the Body style and the Footnote style in footnotes and if either of those have a Next style set it will break. This bug has been around for a long while, maybe you've changed some default settings in …

Can someone confirm that you cannot insert citations into footnotes inserted by hand? Could someone make a video recording of inserting a citation with a footnote style in Google Docs, and then attempting to insert a citation in a footnote made by h…

Go into Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors and reinstall the Word Plugin, then restart Word and try citing again.

We don't have any guidelines for the forseeable future. We will be switching to a newer version of Firefox as Zotero's base in the future and that will likely require some changes from plugin developers. Once we have the details we'll post on the de…

You're likely using the "Next style" parameter in your style which triggers an old LibreOffice bug. See this thread: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/73067/zotero-integration-error You may post on the document foundation bug which may prompt so…

We are investigating this, but you can work around it temporarily by inserting the footnote manually and then citing there. You can insert footnotes via the Insert menu in Google Docs or by using the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl-Alt-F or Cmd-Option-F).

Could you explain in detail what you are doing before seeing the error message and submit a Report ID?
-
Does it work correctly in a new document? This might be an item that you have deleted from Zotero and later re-added, which would have got disconnected from the item already cited in the document. Could you submit a Report ID?

See https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#installation_error

Are you editing the specific paragraph styling manually? If so you should be editing the default style instead. Zotero never preserved paragraph styling beyond the one associated with the pre-set paragraph style. Font and font size should be preserv…

What version of LibreOffice? Does it happen in a new document? This isn't a general problem.

Did you try restarting your browser? Could you submit a Report ID from the Connector?

To everyone: if you press Ctrl-Alt-F does a footnote get inserted into your document? Have you tried disabling other extensions you have in the browser and seeing whether it works?
-
Does it happen in a new document? Could you produce a Debug ID from Zotero for a citation insertion?

Go into the NVidia control panel. There should be some application specific options there for Zotero and Firefox. See if you can copy the Firefox settings for Zotero and whether that solves the issue.

I didn't realize you had Word maximized to a workspace. Unfortunately we are unable to draw the citation dialog over maximized windows. You can expand the Word window to take up the whole screen by dragging it by the edges instead of using it in the…

@Mmanierre @adampricehydro @Joby @henryfg @plxdw1 @oa270100 Thanks for help with troubleshooting this. I've managed to reproduce the error and we will have a fix for the Zotero Connector Beta for Firefox available within the next 24hrs. We will post…

@stubbsrl If you download this old Zotero.dotm file, place it in the Word startup folder, which should be ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/Word and restart Word, does the plugin work?

Download this file https://www.dropbox.com/s/39ml5j0bx61cyy7/Zotero.scpt?dl=0 and put it on your Desktop. Make sure Zotero and Word are open. Then open the Terminal.app and run the command bellow: cd ~/Desktop && osascript Zotero.scpt "PIPE=…

You will have to run through the troubleshooting instructions above. How big is the document you're working with? How many citations?

No, I did understand. But note that minimizing the Zotero window (as opposed to switching to another window, e.g. by clicking on Word in the dash) may be causing this. If you're not minimizing Zotero, then you can try to do some more thorough troubl…

We've been trying to get to the bottom of this for a long while, but we just cannot reproduce this ourselves. The differing Word versions may very well be the cause too. Could you produce a Debug ID from both computer trying to cite the same file …
