He is using a Mac, and when he saves the annotated file when working on his own laptop, he can retrieve it. It is only when he tries to share the web version that the annotations have disappear. Are you saying this won't happen on the Mac?
-
Perfect, thanks!
-
Interesting. Thanks -- I will double check but yes, I have been downloading from the PDFs themselves. I will direct students to downloading from the item/abstract page.
-
I searched via our library's Summon discovery tool, clicked on one of the search results, opened the pdf at the journal site, and clicked on the Zotero page icon. I did not get the usual list of possible ways of downloading the citation. I only go…
-
OK, I will reproduce the searches and add them.
-
I tried this with several articles from library databases, including Project Muse and a Proquest Database.
-
Sorry, once again that appears to be because my university's IT department refuses to update Firefox.
-
Got it, thanks. Will talk to the IT department.
-
So again, that means I should see the Zotero icon on the browser bar in the connector extension is in place, correct?
-
OK, as I am reading, I am wondering if our IT department installed the Standalone correctly. Should I see a Zotero button in Firefox?
-
That did it, thanks.
-
I just ran into the same problem, but clicking on the arrow, the file folder, or My Library does not display the rest of my sub-collections. I see them of course on online Zotero. I am going to close and restart Firefox, but would appreciate other…

Nope, that exports citations very easily but not the pdfs. OK, I will stick to the instructions on the documentation.
-
Yes, the L1 line is already there. And since the export as EndNote XML requires no prep, perhaps the documentation at the above link could be updated.
-
Thanks. And can I assume that the process on the page about, for exporting records with PDFs from EndNote to Zotero, only has to be done once if saved?
-
OK, answering my own question, I right-clicked over the folder in the left column and chose the Create a Bibliography option. Another question, though: is it possible to generate one that includes the abstracts?
-
Reviving this question, because I am trying to find out how to select ALL sources in a folder to create a bibliography from the Zotero client.
-
Hmm, the Presentation template would work but does not have the media field.
-
Additional info: I don't know if this is relevant, but the problem stated when I had the cursor inside a citation, and click Edit Citation to add a page number.
-
This same problem just happened to me, in the middle of a paragraph. First insertion worked fine. Second time I tried to insert an inline citation, none of the Zotero icons did anything when clicked. I closed and reopened Word, but nothing change…
-
Excellent! Thanks for the link. I can make use of that until we get an upgrade.
-
Believe me, I agree completely about the university IT department. The library, unfortunately, does not have its own image, and so we are in constant -- well, let me call it communication or negotiation, to be polite -- with the university IT depar…

So many universities seem to run behind the times -- the NEW image on our public computers is running Firefox 24.4. Supposedly they will now be able to push upgrades to software in sections or layers -- I will have to monitor Firefox to see if they…
-
Not sure why they install out-of-date software, but to my surprise I was able to update, and there Zotero was. Thanks -- this will help me assist the students as well.
-
Yup, I see you upgraded Sept. 2.
-
Interesting idea, though I did just start using Zotero this past summer. Our student lab computers are running Firefox 24.4 (I just checked), and so I have contacted our local admin (library systems folks) I will try the changelog.
-
I work at a state uaniversity of over 30,000 students -- those admins are not listening to me. Plus, I had Zotero on the same version working just fine yesterday.
-
OK, found my own answer to the pdg metadata (turned on the indexing function) but still have my first question.
-
Additional issue: Zotero appears to be searching Google Scholar for the often abbreviated title I gave to a saved pdf, rather than the pdf's metadata.
-
Worked perfectly. Thanks.
