First, Zotero always generates a bibliography containing all and only the references you inserted in the document. (Unless you added some via the edit bibliography menu.) So this isn't something you should need to check, unless you want to know whic…

This is becoming intrusive in my workflow. I type out 10 words of a title in another language, including diacritics, etc., and then it disappears after a sync, so I have to start over. Sometimes this happens multiple times while trying to type out t…

Does it happen in a new document? If not, then there is something in that document causing a problem, and you can probably isolate it by copying and pasting the content into a new document, or maybe just deleting the section containing the bibliogra…

Non capisco bene il problema: non puoi usare 'Sezione di un libro'? Per esempio: Sezione di un libro: -Titolo [del capitolo] -Autore [del capitolo] -Autore del libro -Titolo del libro

(To add to the above, the only thing you should be manually editing would be any typos that your professor identified in the metadata. In other words, if you have a typo in an author's name, or in a title, etc., that will need to be manually correct…

In general, you're not really meant to be regularly restoring things from the trash, and if that's a regular part of your workflow, I'd recommend adjusting your workflow. The trash is a last resort to recover from mistakes. I assume most users don't…

Se non puoi usare gli altri autori come editori, c'è l'opzione di "book author" (nell'inglese, non so come si chiama nella verzione italiana).

@eric_f replying to your request here to make this compatible with APA: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/387279/#Comment_387279 First, let's define the differences between the style I'm using and APA (see also note above). My style has …

@eric_f I will reply to you in the thread there, to keep everything in one place.

That's intentional (but sorry if I did not phrase it clearly). For a literature review, I would like to look at publications in order of publication (primary sort by date), but also consider all works by the same author together. So in the example …
-
I don't think secondary sort can apply here: the "secondary" author would need to override the "primary" year, if and only if author is the same. Unless I'm missing something. Ah, I see that a citekey might help as a workaround.

You can use HTML tags ... in the title field to manually italicize the title, if that's what you need. That won't remove the quotation marks, but that might be appropriate in this case, depending on the specific style.

No ETA. Requested many times on the forums. See: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/5282/multiple-in-text-citation-patterns An alternative, if you want to use a Word macro: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/73159/announcing-zoterzero-for-autho…

I'm returning to this after a break in the project during the pandemic. There is one change that should be made to the version in the repository. (I would do it myself but I'm not certain I wouldn't mess something up with the pull request.) Change:…

I've made similar comments elsewhere, but because it may be helpful for you working on a Mac when it gets slow. Use these solutions in order of severity, as needed (approximate length suggested, but that depends on the speed of your computer and pro…

(Not a complete answer, but if you use a comma as a suffix or prefix between the two items, it should replace the semi-colon.)

"Conference paper" is for published papers in proceedings volumes, as you said. Conference presentations (talks) are "Presentation". I don't know about the second part of your question. I would use the "meeting name" field for the name of the confe…

If that's the only challenge standing in way of implementing this, I think shifting focus to Zotero would be fine. And I agree that we should not be editing our document while Zotero is refreshing it. (One concern is that when inserting citations, …

Unless you need to do a lot of this, it will be simplest to just enter them manually. But if you want to try to do it in bulk: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/81890/automatically-enter-multiple-citations-e-g-whole-collection-in-word

Not possible. Requested many times. See the link I posted above.
-
(Ah, I may have misread. I interpreted this as asking about merging collections into a subcollection, and viewing the combined contents to identify which ones to merge. But if this is just moving the collections around, then my reply is irrelevant.)
-
You can identify which ones you'd like to move, if indirectly.

If I understand this question correctly, you could simulate this with a saved search.

(Yes, I created a Word macro that works similarly, although you'd have to adapt it for the citation style you're using: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/73159/announcing-zoterzero-for-author-only-cites -- the simplest option is to just do withou…

(This has been discussed a number of times on the forums, but with no official option for it, I created a Word macro that works similarly, although you'd have to adapt it for the citation style you're using: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/7315…

I agree with bwiernik, and in fact I often have to post-edit the imported data anyway (including removing the unnecessary OCLC number, so this would all be condensed to one step for me). If you're importing many items, adamsmith, you probably would …

(Why not add a thumbnail of the book cover from Worldcat also? There's a lot of information that is not added to Zotero, which makes sense when the focus is only on the information that would be of use to the average user. Other users can manually a…

This isn't a "feature". Translators save all sorts of data, and can do so to any field. This isn't going to fields. It's going to notes (I'd call that a distinct feature). The reason is that there is no field in Zotero for "has index" or similar, bec…

Not everything in the item pane is meant to be cited. It's still metadata about the item. The number one guiding principle to Zotero or any similar project should be consistency. There is nothing consistent about this feature. It's confusing to ever…

If users (and even some developers) aren't expected to understand what it is, the feature should be redesigned. Simple as that. It seems to vary arbitrarily by translator, and then indirectly by whatever various database websites decide to post as n…
