This is planned - see http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/1787/simple-marking-of-items/ No ETA as yet though.

I can confirm Simon's report - the pane is behaving as expected but when zotero is open as a tab it is not "tabbing" through correctly when filling out a new item manually. System: OSX 10.6 Firefox 4b12 Zotero 2.1rc1

putting that into the tag interface sounds very trick UI-wise Just a thought, but wouldn't alt-clicking on tags to exclude them work ok? the logic would be: Click - select tag Alt click - exclude tag Ctrl/cmd click - select multiple tags Ctrl/cmd…

Don't know what it would take to do that -- Standalone uses Mozilla's XULRunner This appears to be possible with XULRunner, since Mozilla Prism, which is a XULRunner application, can minimised to the tray (or to the dock in OSX) - Prism is open sour…

I think that the way to handle something like this is via the existing unique id system for Zotero items Excellent - thanks for that, TBH I'd forgotten about the existence of the unique IDs (been a while since I followed this forum). And I don't se…

AFAIK zotfile would, as you suspect, only do the "checking out" part, not the "checking back in". In general terms to check stuff back in I guess you would need a) a way of identifying a document unambiguously (are the filenames of Zotero attachme…

My suspicion is that this is failing because of the .art4 suffix. Do all articles from the journal you mention have a similar suffix?

I can confirm that as far as I can tell it is working as expected now - I have just received the latest post to this thread by email, whereas I definitely didn't receive the previous post (3 days ago). Many thanks for your prompt assistance.

I would've thought it would stop you from getting the new ones as well as old ones I simply searched my new email address for Zotero forums messages and found four of them - It could be that these were from the few I'd already unsubscribed/resubscib…

First things first, have you installed the firefox extension successfully? To check this go to tools -> add-ons and make sure Zotero is listed there. Also check that you have none of the known incompatible extensions installed. There is a knowle…

I'm afraid that Zotero will not interact directly with Indesign, although this thread. gives some options for working with it. The only official Zotero plugins are for Word and OpenOffice. One alternative, which has a good reputation for long docu…

You should use the "multiple citations" button in the word/OO plugin to cite multiple works, rather than adding multiple citations manually.

You can download it from http://www.zotero.org/styles

Excellent news. I look forward to future developments.

I agree entirely (my comment earlier refered to a "full featured" app). As adamsmith says, we only really need the "reading" and "collecting" features of Zotero for a mobile application, since smartphones would rarely if ever be used for writing doc…

Could there be a Zotero app? Unlikely at the moment - see this thread for a developer giving reasons. Basically this would require a complete rewrite (which the Zotero project doesn't have the resources for) unless the XULRunner platform was ported,…

So I put my info in the Sync pane and when I cliked the arrow sync button, a seprate pane called"Conflict Resolution" popped up. It asked me to Choose one of two versions either a "local object or a remote object". I choose the remote object. Honest…

Today, came to school, set up Zotero on school computer, signed in, tried to sync Just to start with the basics, have you put your details into the Sync pane of the Zotero preferences on both machines (not the same as signing into the website)? Seco…

Are you going to fix this issue or must we disable it manually as you suggested? Dan has said that they are working on speed improvements which should make this less of an issue. However, IMO, this is less of a Zotero problem and more Firefox being…

For a possible workaround in the meantime (that will certainly be quicker than going through records individually) see this thread: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/1233/better-handling-of-unfiled-items/#Item_8

Keyboard shortcuts are possible in word 2007 (I've been using them for months), they're just not in a very intuitive location. See the instructions here: http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/keyboard_shortcuts_in_word_plugin

Have you had Zotero working in another version of Word/OpenOffice, i.e. is the problem specific to Word 2010? If it occurs in other word processor versions one thing to check (there are probably others but I am no expert on this) is whether you are…

The best way to create a reading list without citations is not to use the word plugin at all (which is designed for writing journal articles etc.). Instead use one of the options given here: http://www.zotero.org/support/creating_bibliographies#rig…

There are some instructions available from the developer of LyZ at http://www.klubko.net/wp/?page_id=945&lang=en

Have you tried restarting firefox?

If you are happy with the PDF saving the webpage appears on screen you could try the PDFmyURL bookmarklet. The PDF produced should just appear in your browser (assuming you use a PDF plugin) so you can use "create new item from current page" etc. I…

Are you intending to add the article to Zotero, or specifically the first illustration? The doi for the article is 10.1371/journal.pmed.0020138, without the .g001 The image itself probably doesn't have any metadata associated with it in crossref, s…

It would also be useful to know how add tags like "abstracts" and other information (DOI, etc) in the RIS that Endnote includes in the record but which Zotero puts as attachments. In my opinion this clutters the record. "N2" is the abstract tag acco…

I wouldn't know how to use the URL bar item through the keyboard AFAIK there is no keyboard shortcut for this ATM (see here). Some people have had success using the vimperator firefox add-on as described here. As an aside I would seriously suggest …

have a documentation/reference page that summarises (all?) keyboard functionality I'm planning to do some work on Zotero's documentation once my university finals have finished in June, this is definitely on my list of things to do. I'm planning to …
