Thanks so much! Sync seems to work flawlessly now!
-
the result is: ===>18011
-
So far, everything seems to work just fine. Thank you so much!

Just as an update: Problems with relations still remain in 5.0-beta.184+d527c34 E.g., after deleting in entry A a relation between entries A and B, the relation still shows up in entry B (before and after sync). (Clicking on the relation in B does…
-
The problem also occurs after manual sync. I just did a test (see D778066731): 1. disable auto-sync. 2. insert into entry A relations to entries B, C, D 3. check whether relations remain stable and are shown also in B, C, D (they did!) 4. sync…

I could reproduce the problem after restart. However, (ID 1819279997) claims that nothing is wrong, maybe there is something useful in (D1209485949). I still fail to see when exactly the problem occurs, I cannot find any pattern up to now.

Until today, I did not encounter any problems with beta 5. Today, however, I found something strange: Newly inserted cross-links between entries tend to disappear mysteriously after a few seconds (If I link entry A to entry B, the link appears in B …

There was I crash but debugging might not have been active in time. I'll try again...
-
I just submitted a debug-ID, I hope that it captures the error:
-
Thanks for your reply. Zotero just does not show any entries and tells me that an error has occurred and that I should restart the program. I'll follow your advice and try to generate more information...

Great, RTF-scan seems to me the best solution anyway. Thanks again for your great work!
-
I finally realized that I (not Debian) had caused the problem by commenting out the wrong lines in /etc/network/interfaces when I tried to make network-manager care for the connections. Hence the problem did not really occur on a "…

Great; thank you very much, pmcarlton! This solves the problem on my system as well.
-
Thanks, Simon! This seems plausible, since at least "lsof -i -P" does not show that 23166 or 23119 are in use. However, being no IT expert, I don't know how to solve the problem. I guess I need to do something with iptables; but then it seems I need…

Meanwhile, I could replicate the problem on another machine using the same installation (Debian Wheezy AMD64 LXDE). I also realized that the problem is worse than I thought since on these machines, zotero does not import references from websites.

What I see on the screen: The citation-dialog does not start and LibreOffice hangs. After quite some time, I get the message that OpenOffice [sic!] cannot communicate with zotero and LibreOffice gets responsive again. Indeed, I have FF-plugin …

Let me say that I changed my mind about the importance of further text-processor-plugins. Personally, I find it MUCH more important to improve and support the RTF-scan feature in Zotero so that any program that is able to export to RTF can mak…

You're right, very probably some peculiar problem with the configuration of standard viewers. I'll first try to reproduce it on a clean Lubuntu install and then, if the problem reappears, write to the Lubuntu forum. Thanks for your advice!
-
Trying to trace down the problem, I just played around with different desktop environment, and it seems that the problem only occurs when I log into the "lubuntu" environment, not when I use gnome. Strange enough, it does also not occur with another…

I didn't yet try to change the default viewer, but I did realize that the problem arises with LyX-attachments as well. Hence it is improbable that evince is the (only) source of problems.
-
Thanks for answering! > What happens if you use right-click > "Open in External Viewer" instead? This makes no difference, it also blocks zotero. The only thing that works is opening the folder that contains the PDF and opening the PDF …

No clues? Am I the only one that has this problem?
-
did you also install the "standalone connector" plugin for your web-browser? You may find them on http://www.zotero.org/support/3.0
-
Just for the record: RTF-scan from standalone as well as from the FF-plugin work fine here (Lubuntu Linux 11.10, FF 10.0.2, standard installation from the Ubuntu-repo).
-
works great -- thanks!
-
I can confirm the issue. Great to hear that it will be fixed in 3.0.3 -- thanks for taking care!
-
I agree with those who argued that RTF-scan should have a much higher priority. The fact that this feature does not attract many users is probably due to the fact that it is not well known and does not work very well right now. Despite this fact, th…

Thanks that you looked at it. I'll just wait then and hope that my database won't get mixed up (or would it rather be advisable to turn indexing off so that I won't have to kill processes?). Ceterum censeo: Thanks for your great work, Zotero is rea…

Hmm..., the last line seems to always look the same (and not very informative). This time: zotero(3): Running pdftotext -enc UTF-8 -nopgbrk -l 1000 "/home/werner/Documents/Datenbank/zotero/storage/RPBT724A/Etzioni - 1996 - The Responsive Community…
