Just for the record: RTF-scan from standalone as well as from the FF-plugin work fine here (Lubuntu Linux 11.10, FF 10.0.2, standard installation from the Ubuntu-repo).

I'm using a Thinkpad SL510, with should have an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, model T6670 / 2200 MHz. The problem also occurs with smaller PDF's sometimes.

Unfortunately, the proposed solution does not work on my installation (Ubuntu 10.4, Firefox 3.6.6, Zotero 2.0.3, pdfinfo 3.02pl1, pdftotext 3.02pl1). I deleted the binaries and did a re-install of pdfinfo & pdftotext, but Firefox still hangs app…
