I think there must be a more generic solution. Can we have a variable that has 'key' and 'value' elements (e.g. key='PMID' value='7297137'). My understanding of CSL is somewhat superficial, so I don't know if this is even possible with the current s…

@ ozydingo Zotero needs to handle much more than inserting unambiguous references in linear order using unsorted author date stile. Imagine you also have a second paper by Smith et al published in 2003. Then the first citation should be converted (…

Annoying isn't it. Unfortunately there is a reason why all references get reformatted - most styles require sorting in the citations (when citing simultaneously multiple sources), in the bibliography or in both places. In addition disambiguation al…

Thanks Dan. It happened also on my linux machine (first sync since the time change). The debug ID is D194006941.

My solution was to edit the field manually. There is no easy way to automate this. Different journals use different ways to abbreviate journal titles in their reference styles (i.e. with or without dots, JBC vs J Biol Chem,...). This has been discu…

The OOo/Word plugin for version 1 was written in VBA. MS dropped VBA support for the MAC version of Word and as far as I know will drop soon the support for the Windows versions too. This made it impossible for the development team to support all w…

I am not sure if this is related but there was a bug in PyUno in the opensuse distribution. If you are lucky it may be the same problem. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/6952/cant-install-oo-plugin-on-opensuse-x64/#Item_4 https://bugzilla.novell…

Dan, You can get the debug log from: http://stoilov.bol.ucla.edu/zotero_log_080409-1.txt The log partial, I interrupted it once the sync started. But on the next sync, it doesn't run through the files again? It actually does. I can't get the p…

Dan, the test passes. There is a change in the behavior. It tries to upload 98 files, but apparently skips the upload after checking the mtime. It tries the upload twice every time I restart firefox. I am pasting a snippet of the console log bel…

Edited: Ignore all this, it seems to be the way time stamps are calculated. Completely irrelevant to the problem. I have been having this problem for quite a while. It is affecting only certain files. When I checked the modification times of a c…

The style is similar to Nature (differs only by the position of the year). I changed the Nature style. You can download it from here: http://stoilov.bol.ucla.edu/JMB.csl I'll put it in the repository as soon as I get SVN access. The one issue I s…

Thanks Rintze. That works. Just for the record, zotero doesn't re-sort the citations on update or when changing the style. Should we call this a bug?

You can point them to the institutions recommending zotero: http://www.zotero.org/support/institutions_recommending_zotero Besides that the zotero team can probably provide a count of the registered users and the rate with which new users join.

Ela, try downloading again the file from the same URL. @Rintze and adamsmith, thank you for the pointers. I am not sure I fully understand what I am doing. I copied the sorting macro from the Chicago author-date style. So now the bibliography is …

Ela, I modified the style for you. You can get it from here: http://stoilov.bol.ucla.edu/FZM.csl

Thanks Dan. My mistake. It is in the export pane.

My German is pretty bad, but it appears that the instructions to authors of the springer journals don;'t cover in too much detail their citation styles. From the examples at the Springer web site it seems that the "Public Library of Science Journ…

Add my vote too for references in frames and tables.

Njall, 2.0 has brought features that are absolutely essential (Group accounts) and a lot of poeple were waiting eagerly for them. I am not sure what your problems are and what do you call 'slower machine'. I am running zotero on a 6 year old lapto…

Thanks Sean. It works.

Stopped working for me. Throws an error message : "We are working to address very high server load. Please try again in a bit. "

You need to patch PyUNO. Here is a description of the bug and a patch: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=448776 It should make it to release soon, so you need to wait a little bit if you don't want to patch it yourself.

I just tried to clear the problem by uninstalling zotero, deleting the entire mozilla and zotero folders (I had the zotero folder on a separate disk partition). After that I installed zotero and synced from the server. It downloaded 768 files and im…

I can confirm the problem peterbloomfield is describing. In my hands it occurred on 2 different PCs that sync to the same account. Deleting the zotero folder does not help. Restoring from the server doesn't help either. I couldn't find what trigge…

I wrote couple of grant application using the plugin and 1.5 beta (and the pre-beta dev. releases). It is perfectly fine and I would recommend using it as long as you don't need to collaborate with somebody else. If several people are working on the…

Cools this means that Lynx support is not far behind.

Let's calm down. Bruce, there was nothing personal in my comment, and I do appreciate a lot your work, not only on the plugin but also on CSL. I was referring to the latest version of the plugin (2.0a2). Here is a list of reported problems: 1. Tur…

Check what is the default style for the paragraph. This sounds like this bug: https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1197

I checked the translator and it specifically detects the PNAS URL ( www.pnas.org). It is possible that the rest of the URL is too generic. At least in the case of the search page it does look very generic.
