I would like to see a translator for APA PsycArticles hosted through APA PsycNet. These are apparently translated currently through an EbscoHost portal (is this the right word?), which I don't have access to.
I'd love to see translators for any of the following. I'm trying to make a local high school see Zotero as indispensable as they start doing research, yet none of their recommended internet resources for their upcoming project are translator friendly. Eeek!
It would be great to add support for Zentralblatt MATH Database
http://www.zentralblatt-math.org/zmath/en/
one of the two comprehensive review sites for mathematics. Currently one can copy and import a BibTeX entry, but it would be far more convenient to get a full support by a Zotero translator.
[AMS MathSciNet, the other math review site, is apparently fully supported, but unlike Zentralblatt, does not offer any free search to non-subscribers. Even that translator is not perfect, though, see http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/7895/ams-mathscinet-translator-doesnt-recognize-some-valid-pages/ which unfortunately still applies to Zotero 2.0.2.]
Please put Sage Publications on your translator list to be worked if you can -- I didn't see it on the list of in process, requested, or unsupportable, but I've seen multiple requests in the forums -thanks!
laura
lkstepp - sage journals are already supported - if you can't import from a journal go through the translator troubleshooting steps
http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues
and if they don't resolve the issue, open a new thread.
Hello
could you please adapt Zotero and PEDro (physiotherapy evidence DB: http://www.pedro.org.au/)
I can't see zotero-tool in Firefox location bar.
maybe it could be useful for physiotherapists, students or professors
thank you

P.S.: I found the extensive tutorial to make Zotero-Translators: http://niche-canada.org/member-projects/zotero-guide/chapter1.html
But for me learning JavaScipt is something to much for my goal, instead I continue to enter the data manually. It is sad that the librarys use so different non standardized book data listings HTML and there is no easier way to make an importer in Zotero.
I would love to see translators for eHRAF World Cultures and Archeology (a collection of ethnographies and archeological field reports hosted by Yale university)

Both of these sites seem to be password-protected, so it's unlikely an outside person will be able to work on them. If you have contacts at Yale, you may want to encourage them to provide useful metadata that Zotero can use without a special translator -- point them to http://www.zotero.org/support/make_your_site_zotero_ready .
just a note for people requesting - at this point it's highly unlikely that someone will come along and fulfill your request. There are barely enough volunteers and staff to keep the current translators working.
I can help write the translators for any requested sites, if you would like to contribute with a bit of small fees. Due to the nature of this translators implementation required a lot of time and testing, I would probably not going to push myself to do it all for nothing.
I've wrote 3 translators for Zotero (NZheralds.co.nz, stuff.co.nz, and TVNZ.co.nz).
In general museums and objects are undersupported by Zotero so it would be nice to see both an item type for 'Object' ('Artwork' doesn't quite do the job) and translators for some major museums such as:
The Victoria and Albert Museum http://collections.vam.ac.uk/
It would be good for russians to see a translator for the main russian database of scientific publications
http://elibrary.ru
There are more than 1700 russian journals and more than 12 000 000 items in this database.
I will help with it if only I can.
In general, however, translators don't get written this quickly. This is a good example of how, for better or for worse, most development of new translators is driven by self-interest.
@ajlyon: Dear Avram, Thank you for the tranlator and for so quickly making of it. Yes, it works. But there are some shortcomings in it. If only you could get back and improve the program. https://www.zotero.org/trac/changeset/7081 1. The translator catches up only the first author from the list. 2. Sometimes there are several author lines in the site. This is so when authors are from different institutions. For example see http://elibrary.ru/item.asp?id=12690735 When it is so, the translator does not catch up the article and gives an error message. 3. The translator detects the type of publications incorrectly. I have the russian version so do not know exactly how it will be in English... Not "article from periodics", but "article from journal".

You have three options:
1. Contact the database and suggest they expose their metadata:
http://www.zotero.org/support/make_your_site_zotero_ready
2. learn how to write a translator yourself and contribute
http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/how_to_write_a_zotero_translator_plusplus
3. Find someone else who is able to write a translator, either by paying them or because they are also interested in using Zotero on that particular database.
obviously no one can keep you from adding more requests here, but I thought it'd be useful to make clear that you shouldn't get your hopes up.

Please go to http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/eLibrary.ru.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data).
Restart Firefox and the site will start working. I still need to add support for PDF saving, but everything else is fine for now.
And thanks for pointing out the site -- it will be very useful for me personally.
