Please note: If you run into any problems with Zotero 7, please let us know in a new thread, not this thread. We can't troubleshoot problems in this thread.
There is one thing I miss about Zotero 6 and that is icons with color and text with higher contrast. For me, who has ADHD and autism, the grey icons tend to blend in with each other, especially considering that backgrounds are also gray, so it usually takes longer to find the right button in Zotero 7.
I can probably imagine that others prefer the more minimalist and modern suit (and I agree), but Zotero is a tool that should be effective, and then form must follow function - aesthetics give way to efficiency. So to satisfy everyone's needs - aesthetic and universal design - the opportunity to change this with different themes would be ideal. Something that probably shouldn't be very demanding to implement now that you can switch between dark and light themes?
Amazing job indeed! Thanks a lot. I have been using Zotero for many years and today, helping my partner to install it and start using it, I realised Zotero 7 was here. It is impecable. I missed ZotFile to manage my files and move them to my cloud directory, and just discovered that Zotmoov, compatible with Zotero 7 does the job smoothly. Great experience with this new very attractive look and functionalities.
The new HTML viewer and annotation tool is great. It was a pleasant surprise to see that Zotero 7 supports highlighting even in HTML snapshots, which can now be opened in the app.
Amazing! Zotero 7 is a joy to work with and the new design is pleasant. I'm overjoyed that I can annotate HTML pages within the application now. My workflow before this feature was a bit clunky, requiring me to convert everything to PDF first.
Great news and another great product thank you folks!
(not on here perhaps) does anyone run an old version of MacOS? I am running (cos it's all I can afford) iMac Model: iMac10,1 running HighSierra 10.13.6 - will this new version run on that?
In the new release, the feature 'Smart Reference Popup' is described, which applies to finished texts. This feature could be really useful in texts and assignments that students and scientists are writing and managing references in. Could you consider developing this in the future?
In the Zotero 6, the toggle buttons for the right side panel were above the side panel panel. In Zotero 7, these are to the right of the panel. On smaller screens, this space is valuable.
Therefore, the ability to toggle between having these buttons above or on the side of the panel would be useful.
The new feature; Formatting preview of citation is also useful.
I therefore think that being able to switch between whether it is visible or not, as well as the placement of the buttons (as described above) should be available as a separate button (then outside of settings).
I come back after a few weeks of working with Zotero 7: The improvement in startup time is massive. Overall, no crashes or freezes so far. I would like to change the font to see if I like the old one better. It is also a matter of screen pixel resolution etc., I use 2K and have optics, so this is a subjective feature request. Thanks!
Thanks to the team for the great job, Zotero is the best reference manager, and version 7 is no doubt a must have. Luckily I didn't find it too late during my scientific career.
Me han surgido dos problemas con Versión Zotero 7. ¿Existe un canal o foro específico para indicarlo? o prefieren que lo pregunte en este?
Quedo a la espera, gracias!!

In particular I like the "aperçu/preview" feature on links in the text.

Zotero 6 already impressed me deeply, but with Zotero 7, I’m beyond thrilled by the incredible improvements the team has made.
I’m extremely grateful for all the hard work and can't wait for future updates, especially on the iOS version!
