@martynas_b thanks. Yes I am using Firefox v107 and the pdf that doesn't render in Zotero, renders fine in the native Firefox viewer, which I believe is pdf.js.

(There used to be an add-on in the very early days for Zotero ("Prevent Duplicates") but that only worked while Zotero was running entirely inside Firefox, so that is of no use even as a template)

(I've updated the documentation, which was still talking about Zotero for Firefox from many years ago.)

@pablocomo You have a very old version of the Zotero Word plugin back from when Zotero was a Firefox extension. You don't need to install the Word plugin separately anymore, it comes bundled with Zote

I can reproduce the issue in Microsoft Edge (v 107.0.1418.52), Chrome (v 107.0.5304.107), and Firefox (v 107.0).

I thought that I remembered being able to download a pdf file while in Firefox and have that file open in Zotero after clicking the appropriate Zotero dialog box approval.
