You’re misunderstanding. It’s about Zotero files, not Zotero itself, and specifically files from an ancient Zotero for Firefox installation. It’s obviously not just a coincidence that you used Zotero

Zotero is based on Firefox, so you will likely see the same behavior there. You will have more luck looking for troubleshooting clipboard issues with Arch Linux and Firefox.

I'm seeing the same here -- the logo of any metadata file (.ris, .bib) changes to the Firefox logo on Windows (11 here) when Zotero is set as the default app for the file type.
