I second this. I use ctrl+tab to switch between two PDFs quickly. Also, the different behavior of ctrl+tab between Firefox browser and Zotero is confusing.

My guess is you are looking at the Zotero connector's preferences in Firefox, which has a Proxies tab. That's not where you set up sync.
