You should also be able to create a shortcut with the -P command line flag that opens Zotero with a specified profile (as you do in Firefox, the underlying code for Zotero).

Had Zotero 7 on my old laptop. Got a new laptop. Installed Zotero and set everything up the way I want. Firefox is my default browser.

Right-Clicking on the Attachment and then "Open Snapshot" opened the attachment in the default browser (it worked for Brave, Edge and Firefox).

For me "Open in Firefox" didn't work for all PDFs, but setting browser.download.open_pdf_attachments_inline to true in about:config helped.
