Hi there,

You can collaborate on Word documents with Microsoft Word installed on your computer using OneDrive syncing tools. You don't need Word Online for that.

@dstillman While I understand the delay and wait from Microsoft is ongoing, is there any reason why we cannot try a beta version in the meantime? Or is it that a crucial feature is not working?

@natashachristopher: Zotero has supported Google Docs for years. We're still waiting on Microsoft to be able to support Word Online.

hi, any updates on the plugin for Word Online? And will Zotero work on Google Docs online?

Hello,

@Valeria15_02: We've developed a plugin for Word Online, but we're waiting for changes on Microsoft's end before we can release it. We're working with them to make that happen.

(We've also written a new plugin that enables much faster integration on macOS, as well as add support for Word Online, but it requires additional changes from Microsoft before we can release it.)

The plugin is mostly finished, but there are some issues on Word Online editor's side that we are working through with Microsoft. As this requires some back-and-forth and unclear when all issues can …

@adomasven @dstillman @adamsmith

Did you change the document in Word to the Zotero transfer format? That is when all your citations should have changed to JSON links. You should open that document in Google Docs (make sure to conver…

It's just a file. If you save it in a different format or open it with another tool (e.g., if clicking it in your email opens it in Word online), that could cause the citations to be lost, but if you…

@globalfinn Actually your citation is still available in Word Online, but currently the Word Online document editor does not display footnotes by default. You have to click on these footnotes in the …
