I am getting this same error when I use the Firefox Zotero Connector to download Scopus items, and I am pretty sure it is a bug. Scopus lets you download up to 2000 items, I was trying to download 20

Actually upon a computer restart, it is working now (with OR without the VPN), so I think that maybe the steps to copy the Firefox profile did help!

The icon is a grey box in the top right corner. I have authorized the extension, removed and redownloaded the extension, and tried using chrome instead of Firefox - all with no success.

I had also tried the steps to copy the cert9.db, key4.db, and pkcs11.txt files from the Firefox profile directory to the Zotero profile directory, but that didn't do anything.

We are aware of the issue but currently cannot reproduce it ourselves. If you disable other extensions in Chrome does it fix itself? If not, it's likely that it will work well with Firefox.
