You're misremembering this. You'd only have that if were using Zotero's Google Docs integration and then downloaded the document as a .docx rather than properly converting it.

That's correct. Zotero is only supported in native formats, i.e. .docx in Word, .odt in LibreOffice, and google docs in Google docs.
