I checked my steps in Zotero 6.0.30 and confirm they are working fine - report is sorted by date of publication. Check if you are doing step 4 right.
-
Is there an update when this feature might come to the desktop interface?
-
To create a report in chronological order: 1. Create a new collection. I call mine "Create_Report" and use it only for creating reports and then empty it after 2. Add all the items you want in the report to this collection 3. Sort by Date. Sorting b…

Thanks. Trying it now. Any known bugs/issues (other than throttle)?

Yes, "silicone" is identified (9 occurrences) by Acrobat and Zotero's in-built PDF reader. This is a recent year (2012) article downloaded directly from SAE Mobilus, so not an OCR'ed document.

Dan, the setting in the View menu does not work if a PDF's default view setting is multiple pages. In my Acrobat reader, when I open such a PDF, I can use the "fit one full page" setting, and my entire vertical screen is one page of the document - a…

Checking back to see if there is an update on this issue

Ah, I see the page height option in the View menu. Thanks. My immediate need is solved and this helps me use the inbuilt reader. In a future update, can the page height option be added to the toolbar beside the page width option (or just make that …

Changelog for 6.0.5 (April 21, 2022) says Added “Zoom to Page Height” option. I am on 6.0.7 but not seeing that option.

I am still seeing these five columns: Supporting, Contrasting, Mentioning, Total Distinct Citing Publications, Total Smart Citations (I use this).
-
That's great. Thanks.

Not Google Scholar citation count, but just in case you want a compatible add-on that provides some citation count, consider scite: https://github.com/scitedotai/scite-zotero-plugin

Thanks. Regarding #2, could those choices be added to the "Group Settings" page?
-
Thanks for the many additional types in 1.0.2. Cross-link for ref: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/93617/announcement-csl-1-0-2-launch-date

Wondering if there's been any updates to the RSS feed information. Even in Zotero's feed reader, the only information about the item is the title (plus who added the item and when it was added).
-
That would save a lot of time. I am hoping this initial version will allow for multiple items to be dragged and changes applied (including tags) in a couple clicks. In my workflow, if I am dragging A' on to A, where A' is my latest copy, I want all …

Okay, thanks for laying out the problems. Eagerly looking forward to better ways to sync between libraries. When that lands, will it: 1. Run a sync on items added in the past? 2. Can it have a setting that says "anything added to this Group should …
-
"Better ways to update data between libraries are still planned." This would solve it to a large extent because I can keep My Library up to date and the group library could just follow along. I know it might be a major coding task. I have been tryi…

"Because as a group member you shouldn't have to keep track..." Everyone can see all the parent items, so nothing sensitive there. If members make a stand-alone note (thus a parent item), that could be shared/synced or not based on whatever you (Zo…

"they can copy the items from the group to their personal libraries, build up their libraries normally, and attach PDFs there" This is what I was hoping to do originally, but it fails because the group library very quickly falls behind on tags and …
-
Okay. Could you help me understand why that would be incredibly confusing? I feel like I am not explaining this correctly because in my mind it is not confusing at all. If I am a member of this groups, I see all the parent items that exist and only …

Sorry about the @. What I am trying to do is have a group that anyone can join so they can benefit from the parent items and metadata. The intent is to give a head start to anyone interested in acquiring a curated bibliography that they can access,…

@dstillman regarding your comment about the indexing settings, I have mine bumped up so entire file gets indexed. My settings are 50000000 characters and 9999 pages per file (default is 500000 and 100). When I am adding a lot of items quickly, I cha…

This is great, thank you. I was using "Save Page WE" add-on to save my webpages as a single file and for the past month I have been saving some pages with Save Page WE and "SingleFile" add-ons. In most cases the SingleFile saved version is smaller a…

I would like to advocate for one file per snapshot for many of the reasons mentioned by @Arjan. I have avoided Zotero's snapshot feature because it creates many dozens of files per snapshot and that's hard to share. My current approach is to use a F…

This is a welcome improvement. Thank you. Could you speak more on why SingleFileZ and not SingleFile, particularly interoperability and sharing? Other than compression, it seems SingleFile is better because it will open in any browser without compre…

(2) Typing "+" means you hit the key combination required to type the "+" symbol. On most keyboards that would means SHIFT and the key that has the "+" symbol on it. Select the items in Zotero and type "+" key to expand the items. You can also hit t…

This is great, thanks. I tested some of the same search phrases and results from local and online library are identical, except for one outlier case (marked with **). search term: heavy clark local: 41 online: 41 search term: nigel clark local: 7…

The Mendeley features mentioned here are useful. But there are alternate methods that will get you similar or better results. For new and latest research, Google Scholar is great. You can setup alerts for a topic or an author you want to follow. Her…
