I mean a simple way to copy links to collections - like zutilo's right-click for items. I know you said we should appeal to zutilo for that. I was just expressing my sense that it would be really helpful -- I'm certainly one who would use it.
-
As a naive (non-programming) user, I have been longing for this for a long time - I often want to link to a collection from another program, or from within zotero. I already link to items via zutilo. It would make collections a great deal more usefu…

Indeed! This is a major step forward and very encouraging for the future of Zotero!
-
It does! Thanks.
-
It doesn't redirect - I get "Error - page not found". I also tried it in Chrome, and it doesn't work there either. I think it was working only a few weeks ago -- not more than a couple of months at most.
-
Thanks! That works (for a trial sample, anyway...).

A comment: opening my 15,000-item database in 5.0 takes about 30 seconds, which is much longer than in previous versions. After the initial opening things are pretty quick, so it's not a big problem. But is it expected to take that long, or is there…

It's sort of painful to read andrehmbezerra's rant, but it reminds me how fortunate we are that this is in general such a civilized and helpful forum.
-
I certainly should have thought of that! The problem was that I *do* see a cursor (Chrome for Windows), and so I was trying to backspace over the numbers. That didn't work, but typing the number does. So that's taken care of ...

Ironically, the only place I'm having problems is trying to make a donation -- clicking on the Donation button takes me to a PayPal page with a large $0.00, but I can't change that amount (which wouldn't help you much).

Just echoing others' appreciation for the excellent work on zotfile 5 - all went very smoothly for me.
-
Yes, it's a clear 1:1 correspondence: disable the Paperpile extension, zotero works; re-enable Paperpile, zotero fails (on Google Scholar).
-
Aha! Solved. I had the Paperpile extension on for working with Google Docs, and not surprisingly, it conflicts with Zotero, at least on Google Scholar. Thanks. (I do wish Zotero worked better with Google Docs, though.)

OK, trying again: debug ID D1830073709
-
OK, got it. The debug ID is D1300491611
-
It's been happening regardless of whether Zotero is open or closed. I don't know how to get a Debug ID for this problem. There's none on the error message on the Scholar page. The Connector Options page says "Please post a message to the Zotero for…

I have used a kludge (workaround): I put a top-level note in each collection with the collection name and a special tag; then I can search for that name and tag, find the note, and use the control key to highlight it in the Collections. Hey, it work…

Thanks! Now that I know it's 5.0 I can find it. For anyone else reading this discussion, the exchange adamsmith refers to is at this link: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/57983/zotero-50-what-will-remain-same-what-will-change-availability/

I have started using Zotfile to put pdf attachments into a single folder on my Google Drive (it could be any cloud service), linked from the Zotero entries. Then I can read and annotate them in the cloud on my tablet. When I get back to my desktop I…

The Zotero web platform is actually pretty good - ie, type zotero.org into any web browser, including android ones, and sign in to your library. There is also a bookmarklet that can be used in android browsers to save references. That does about 80%…

With authors, a right-click gives an option to change the case.

I just want to back up Dan and the Zotero developers here. I've used the program for years. It has worked wonderfully, and when I have had any problems their responses have been fast, courteous, and effective. This kind of rant is depressing and des…

I would add that it would be very helpful if the Tag and Related tabs were highlighted when they had content in them. I frequently want to scroll through my recent adds to see which ones I haven't tagged; to do that I need to have the tag tab open, …

I find the online version of Zotero is quite workable on a tablet for looking up and manipulating existing records. If you use the zotero server to save attachments, the online version also gives you direct access to them. The bookmarklet makes it p…
-
Sorry, aurimas, I realize I didn't respond to you -- I tried your alternate url; it went to the page all right, but still no zotero icon. Yet the bookmarklet works. Retrieving metadata does not.

Some weird things: in Standalone I have no proxy tab, unless it's hiding well. In the Firefox extension I do have the tab, and it leads (as I believe it always has) to http://%h.proxy.libraries.rutgers.edu/%p. It has many sites associated with it…
-
I've figured out a partial workaround: the Zotero bookmarklet does work with Google Scholar pages. But I can't use Retrieve Metadata. So I still hope to figure this out.
-
Reset File Sync history worked - thanks!

(Sorry, I thought I put this in the Troubleshooting category - let me know if I should start again there)
