Agreed - an OLED option in addition to light/dark/sepia would be helpful, for all views (not just EPUB).

This is awesome! I've been using an 'AAA now reading' manual collection for this to keep it 'pinned' to the top of my collection list - it's pretty hard to scroll through a lot of collections on android with a Boox ereader.
-
Seconded, pinned tabs would be nice.

The official Zotero Android app is what I use on my 13-inch Boox Max Lumi despite it not having any e-ink optimizations. Sometimes I use KOReader which I generally prefer, but it is too much of a hassle currently to get its annotations imported into…

Some feedback on testing usage: - Maximum 2x speed is not enough for me with English USA Standard Voice 2. Very minor nitpick, but when adjusting the speed when actively playing, it would be nicer to not restart the current sentence but just continu…

EPUB3+ files support Media Overlays that allow per-sentence audio clips to be played in sync with the book text and stored directly in the file, essentially combining ebook with audiobook (https://kb.daisy.org/publishing/docs/sync-media/overlays.htm…

Should we expect the unlimited tier storage to have unlimited premium voice time (or high enough that a single human user can consider it unlimited)? Hopefully using your own TTS server on the LAN e.g. https://github.com/hexgrad/kokoro will also be…

On Android with Kiwi Browser, the Zotero connector chrome extension works if you have it save the html snapshot to Zotero web. But wrong OS for your use case and Kiwi browser development halted, so this solution won't be viable forever.

Screen edge taps don't work for me as described in the latest release either with for example Page Transition set to continuous, page mode single, and scroll direction horizontal (side note - it would be nice if the vertical option of this last sett…

foss-, I'm hoping for TTS support too (especially on mobile) but wasn't aware of anything beyond desktop Zotero TTS addons. Are you referencing something more than that in 'looking forward to TTS support'?
-
I'm excited for this feature.
-
Excellent, thanks for your consideration.

Great to hear!

If there are multiple attachments associated with one item, can I also change which is the 'default' attachment (which is opened when double-clicking the item row in Zotero, not when clicking a specific attachment row)? Renaming doesn't seem to matt…

@dstillman I still use the Connector like this regularly but also often go to add an additional field or some other Zotero small task that requires opening Zotero. I had an idea on how to generalize this—what if the Zotero Connector extension had an…

@D0ug I've thought a lot about this and want to create something similar (more of an active syncing between the annotations in Zotero's database and KOReader's sidecar files when all stored together in the hashdocsettings/ subfolder, but the end res…

"Just as for iOS and the web library, the Android app will not work with linked files. There's no reasonable way to make that work." @adamsmith Would it be reasonable on Android to follow the pattern of Zotero for Windows/Mac/Linux where you just s…

Beautiful!

Yes, KOReader exports do not support WADM either - I don't know if anything does except for possibly Hypothesis and need to research it more. I don't think the exports are worth worrying about. So yes, a new KOReader integration with any WADM sour…

Thanks, I think you're correct that Hypothesis hasn't made their EPUB annotator available outside the demos. obsidian-annotator is outdated and rather buggy, and I mainly added it because it does use Hypothesis for both HTML and EPUB annotation (it …

I'm actually curious about the syncing performance/capabilities when syncing the files too.
-
@adamsmith Thanks for pointing that out, I've seen that mentioned but need to read it if the vision is that similar and see how it stores cross-platform annotations. I've used Hypothes.is's ePUB annotation demos which are usable at least in https://…
-
There was work up until ~2015 for standardizing annotation support in ePUBs, similar to PDFs: https://idpf.org/epub/oa/. But as far as I know, that eventually fell apart and the few apps that support embedded ePUB annotations either directly modify …

In which directory are local attachments stored on Android?
-
I hope linked attachments (https://www.zotero.org/support/preferences/advanced#linked_attachment_base_directory) will eventually be supported for those of us who use Syncthing or other external sync tools on both desktop and Android. It's not even a…

Ah, thanks. URL definitely needs an update then.

https://github.com/MuiseDestiny/zotero-file Zotero-file is a new plugin meant to replace the existing add-on/plugin Zotfile for Zotero 7 going forward. Most features are retained but tablet syncing is not. This is separate from Zotero Storage onli…

I didn't realize until now that linked attachments likely won't function on the Android app, and I'm not sure if addons will be supported in Android either. So zotero-file may be the way to go if people prefer that storage method, and the Android ap…
