That’s not a Debug ID for Zotero startup.
-
@Yangjiayin: Same answer as above.
-
@fatpaw: Thanks. Yes, it looks like this is specifically happening for databases with tens of thousands of annotations. We'll have another beta to try with additional optimizations within the next couple days.
-
If it never loads, that's a different issue, so moving this to a separate thread. Can you provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through a few minutes of waiting, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option? (You provided a Report ID, not a Debu…

The current beta is literally Zotero 8 plus a few bug fixes from the last few days. It’s perfectly safe — we wouldn’t ask you to try it if it weren’t. And you can also always make a backup of your Zotero database before trying it if you’re concerned…

We're happy to help, but you'd have to work with us and provide what we ask for. Can you provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through the first attempt to click Add/Edit Citation, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option?
-
(But Zoplicate specifically was just updated for Zotero 8.)
-
We always need an example URL for problems with saving. If you're having trouble saving across many sites, see Troubleshooting Problems Saving to Zotero.

1. After returning to the entry homepage, I can't open individual articles to read their contents I'm not sure what you mean by this. Can you provide steps to reproduce? 2. The column width of the entries can't be adjusted as needed. The columns in …

For problems with a plugin, you'll need to contact the plugin developer. The plugin may need to be updated for Zotero 8.

Could not remove C:\Users\[…]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP\Zotero.dotm This is likely due to security software on your computer preventing Zotero from updating the Word plugin. You may need to do a manual installation. See here: https://w…

Can you try the latest Zotero beta and see how long that takes? This is likely mostly a result of having a huge number of annotations in the database. There's more we need to fix, but there's a change in the beta that might speed things up a bit.
-
Yes. 7.0.16 should’ve auto-updated by now for most people, but if it didn’t, reinstalling from the download page will fix it.
-
Update to the latest version of the Zotero Connector, 5.0.194. This was due to a change in Edge, and we pushed a fix yesterday. https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/505971/#Comment_505971

But you're saying it runs fine from the command line? If so, it doesn't seem like there's a dependency problem. You don't really need to worry about warnings and errors in the terminal if you're not experiencing a problem, which it sounds like you'r…

Are you running the Zotero desktop app locally? Is it set up for syncing? If so, does the username in the Sync pane of the settings match the account you're logged into on this website?
-
It's not clear what you mean here. See Reporting Problems for the two things we always need in order to help.
-
What version of the Zotero Connector do you have, and in what way is it not working? What do you mean by "tried for the first time to cite something"?
-
Can you provide a Report ID from Zotero and some screenshots of what you're seeing?
-
Fixed in the latest beta — thanks.
-
Should be fixed in the latest beta — thanks.
-
Do you have your Zotero data directory on a network drive or in another non-standard location?
-
What @aborel says about the "usually", but no, there aren't any major changes here in Z8. We're planning to take some steps to try to reduce Zotero's own memory usage — predominantly in the reader, but elsewhere as well — in future versions.
-
I tried the debug ID process, but I got an error message. What error message? You should also make sure you're trying with Zotero 8, which came out yesterday.
-
By "all the text that's available" I mean your terminal's entire scrollback buffer — ideally hundreds or thousands of lines. If it's easier to redirect to a file, you can do that.
-
@sekercilerzade: It's explained how to do exactly that above. https://www.zotero.org/blog/zotero-8/#reader-appearance-panel-with-theme-support
-
You can redirect the output to a file with > log.txt, but if it stopped, you can just copy all the text that's available and send that.
-
(Please start new threads for new issues — the thread you posted to isn't related. I've moved this to a new thread.) It's extremely unlikely that you lost any data from updating. What exactly are you seeing? Can you provide a Report ID?
-
You launch Zotero with ./zotero, not ./zotero-bin, so it's ./zotero -safe-mode to launch in Troubleshooting Mode. Can you launch with ./zotero -safe-mode -ZoteroDebugText and, after reproducing the hang, send the output to support@zotero.org?
