@ajewelsantoro @robin.manley We are working on a fix.
-
@samvimes @poettli Thanks for helping to reproduce the issue. It should be fixed in the next update.
-
The issue should be fixed in Zotero 7 beta. Let us know if not.
-
Well, but it only makes sense to do so if you know the master password of the PDF file.
-
It's likely that this feature hasn't been implemented in pdf.js because it's a rare use case. But I'll try to report them the issue.
-
@paulda @pcinque Also, and this was already a problem before beta 40, there is no right click when using the touchscreen (long press does nothing). It affects the entire app. Works on 6 latest version. Can you both confirm that context menu issue is…

@ajewelsantoro My experiment didn’t work out. Zotero on desktop just lags and all the pages of the PDF endlessly show the loading symbol no matter how long I wait. This is definitely not normal. 1) Do you have any plugins installed? 2) Could you se…

Could you make a video or try to explain the issue better?
-
Is that only an issue for annotations or you also can't add tags for items and notes as well?
-
Weird. This was fixed 1.5 month ago, and I can't reproduce this as well (on macOS). If you are using plugins try to disable them and let us know if that helps.
-
Good point — we'll think about it.
-
Linux users: try Super + Alt + cursor for that. Let me know if that works.
-
The problem is different. If you want to know — it's about maximum optimal Canvas HTML element dimensions and memory consumption.
-
@ajewelsantoro Once ink annotations are synced to the Zotero client and the PDF file is opened, the rendering process starts as a one-time operation. This can take some time if there are many annotations. 1) Approximately how many annotations are w…

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but zooming in Zotero 7 beta is already smoother.
-
Yes, this is a limitation of PDF.js (the underlying library behind Zotero Reader). It restricts the maximum page resolution. For normal PDF pages this isn't a problem, but for pages containing, for example, schematic diagrams or web pages this can s…

@kiwimw Seems like a PDF issue. Could you send it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread? Does it happen with other PDF files as well?
-
1) Do you have any plugins? 2) How much memory Zotero uses when it starts to "crawl"? 3) Is there a difference if you keep only one tab open?
-
The OCRed text layer (which is normally not visible) actually has a visible space before those dots. So this is an OCRing problem, although we'll try to investigate why it differs from other viewers.
-
It will be fixed in the next update. Thanks for reporting.
-
@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Yes, but we need more information to reproduce this. I.e. if you leave only one tab open does it still happen? Have you noticed tags box or note editor overflowing in the library tab?
-
@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa When does it happen? Do you know the steps to reproduce that?
-
I guess this only happens when using Shift key? We'll fix this.
-
Yes, a screenshot would be really helpful. Could you try to upload it somewhere and send a link?
-
Setting default Zotero reader view settings is planned.
-
Please send an example PDF file to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread.
-
The cursor issue is fixed, but keep in mind that rotated text support is currently very limited. Although there are plans to make this better in future.
-
I'm not sure who sent the files, but they have slightly invalid data (missing internal references). This might be related to Onyx. But we'll try to ignore this error and still allow to import annotations.
-
Those who are experiencing very high memory fluctuation while scrolling please do a test: 1) Maximize Zotero window, zoom PDF to page width and start scrolling. 2) Shrink Zotero window as much as you can and start scrolling. Please report the memo…
