Zotero 7 Beta: Copy hyperlink within a PDF file

I would like to be able to copy some hyperlinks within a PDF file.
This would allow me to collect and reuse this information in a different way than simply clicking on the hyperlink. For example:
- Open a URL in a different browser
- Qucikly share by email the DOI URL of a paper cited in the PDF file
- Copy an email address (mailto hyperlinks)
- Copy ORCID information of an author
- ...

In some cases, the link is only forwarding to another page (like DOI links). So I cannot get the link from opening it in a browser.
The links are often hiden behind some text, so copying the PDF text does not help.

This has been requested before, like here:

  • Good point — we'll fix this.
  • Hi, Is this issue fixed? when yes, how could we copy the hyperlink withing the PDF?
  • It is not fixed yet.
You have to open the file in an external PDF Reader like Adobe Acrobat to be able to copy the hyperlink from a right-click on the link.
  • I think I am facing this same issue. I am clicking on a link but it just opens a blank browser window. It does not even open the link.

I tried to copy the link, but I could not do that. I tried to change the browser Zotero will use to open the link, but it opens a blank window in all the browsers I have.

The link I am trying to open is a ftp link from ftp.aip.org, I don't know if that is the issue here.
