I also am seeing the same behavior consistently - just about anything you do out of search results takes minutes to complete - editing fields in a reference, dragging and dropping a reference from the center pane to a collection in the left pane, sw…

It was not saved search, just quick search. And something finally clicked with all this from my sysadmin days and I did a disk check with Disk Utility this afternoon, and my hard drive had been corrupted. I let Disk Utility repair my hard driv…

It might have been pure hope, but while lag in general increased with the Javascript debugger turned on, the pause when working inside search results did seem to decrease substantially while the debugger was on. It was very strange, and so I don't …

Right. Specific steps to reproduce problem: - Start Firefox (home page is google.com, with my user auto-signed in - logging out and not auto-signing in didn't seem to matter on subsequent reload, nor did a different home page). - Open Zoter…

Interesting. DWL-SDCA's comment got me thinking. Google.com is my home page, and it was set to always keep me logged in. I just signed out of google, and that did, at least for the moment, bring everything up to speed. This actually could be what…

OK. At this point, It is happening regardless of add-on or plugin, and starting right when browser starts up. Might it help to try re-installing the plugins, or installing them in a new profile? Thanks again for your help.
-
Happening with all plugins disabled, too, and the MacWord and OpenOffice add-ons disabled as well. Not sure what to do now. Thanks for trying to help. Jon
-
And now it is doing it with no add-ons enabled except for: PythonExt 2.6.2.20100203 Zotero 2.0.9 Zotero MacWord Integration 3.0b7 Zotero OpenOffice Integration 3.0b2

Well, I went through one-by-one, using a window that was not full screen zotero, and it was fine even after all were enabled. Then I moved the browser window to my 2nd monitor, made the browser window full-screen, then clicked the little full-s…

So do you think it is an add-on? Should I try enabling them one-by-one?
-
Yes, it is much faster.

Another one with all extensions disabled, in case I screwed something up (I couldn't remember if I actually changed the abstract or not): D1410059254

Another one with extensions enabled: D730759293 After disabling all extensions other than the 3 zotero plugins and python: - debug for saving abstract with all extensions disabled: D169008311 - I also got error messages: 1223103840

I made modifications to RIS.js so EndNote would import better. Other than that I haven't changed anything. I'll post the debug ID in a second here. Jon

OK. I did not have that expanded to include all items. I have 2720 total, so that might be more the size where you have problems. I'll upload my database now. Thanks, Jon

Yes, trash is empty.

550 items, many with one or more associated PDFs. In case it matters, here are my index statistics: Indexed: 461 Partial: 5 Unindexed: 235 Words: 113429 In Firefox, I have the following extensions installed: Firebug (all panels d…

Also, I did eventually have to remove both pdfinfo-MacIntel and pdftotext-MacIntel to get indexing and imports to work. Any idea when this might be fixed? Jonathan
-
With RIS PDF import, the one thing I don't know how to do is give the user a way to tell the script where their EndNote PDF folder is. I have a variable in RIS.js in which you place the absolute path of the EndNote PDF folder, then it takes care of…

It would be good to see if we can get this freezing on PDF import worked out. The import periodically going out to lunch is the only thing that makes me nervous about the revision to RIS.js I did. If it turns out that it is the PDF import and not …

My challenging test worked OK, too, with pdfinfo-MacIntel moved out of library - slight pause at the end, but did not crash. Would you like me to start with a fresh library and try installing my whole export at once (500+ references, probably 4…
-
With the one large file that was consistently causing problems, moving pdfinfo-MacIntel out of library folder fixed the problem. Indexing doesn't work now (so is that the PDF parsing and indexing program?). I'll back up my library and try one …
-
I will try that a little later today. So, to be clear, I first remove pdfinfo-MacIntel from zotero library folder and see if that fixes problem, then, if not, also remove pdftotext-MacIntel? This does sound similar to 15468 and 4935. Let me k…

I also am having this problem. I am on Mac OS X 10.6.5. More specifically, I believe it is a problem in the indexing of PDF files. With large PDF files (of the 8 I just attached, the three that caused problems were 2.2 MB, 2.8 MB, and 3.9…

If the problem is with the Adobe Unit Types.osax ScriptingAdditions, updating to latest version fixed this, so you don't need to move the ScriptingAdditions out of the way: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/14971/#Item_4 Jonathan Morgan

I also had the same problem, including the menu item being present but only having one command - "add bibliography". Up until this, everything was working fine in both Word 2008 and Word 2011. Report IDs: 1053549744,1478343860,1061011477,50250…
